Nice morning ....

28th June 2026 (Sunday)     10.30    We have a nice morning;  sunny and warm with a moderate,

cooling, Southwesterly breeze.    It was uncomfortably hot last night, so the fan was 'on' near enough all night.    Me? .... I've taken the pills, and ready to do things.    The first thing I'll do is hang out the  washing going through the machine just now.  

18.30    Although there's a fair amount of cloud now, we've had another sunny day;  and a hot afternoon, even though we had a nice cooling SW breeze.    It's the kind of weather that the holiday makers are looking for.    And, going by the number of folk going up and down Ferry Road, the holiday season has well and truly started.   

 The air is cooler this evening, especially when the sun is behind the clouds.  Sleeping should be easier tonight;  that said, since I started using the tower fan I haven't had a problem sleeping in the hot nights.  It's forecast to be cooler tomorrow, then warmer again on Tuesday.

For some strange reason I'm absolutely kn .... shattered this tonight.  I haven't been 'working';  not very hard anyway.  The washing has been taken in, and I thought about the ironing!   Perhaps  thinking is tiring:  I'm glad I don't do it often.  

I'm going to put the kettle 'on. then find something on the TV.    I see 'YouTube' is one of the Channels; and I fancy   listening accordion music;  I haven't heard the Ness Accordion Band for a while. 

22.30     I shouldn't have to use the fan tonight as the air is much cooler.   I've been tired all day so I expect to sleep well.   Off to make the Horlicks.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
