14th June 2026 (Sunday)     11.30 .... The sky is cloudy just now, but we could have sunny spells is

the afternoon.... and light showers.    Michael and Janice are walking to Lower Largo today, so the showers, hopefully, will be somewhere else.   My job is to wash the dishes.   That's a very responsible job:  and, today I have to open a new packet of dishwasher tablets.   This could be stressful.   But not as stressful as watching Scotland v Haiti. on BBC this morning (at 08.00).    It wasn't the most entertaining game but Scotland got the only goal of the game, albeit via a deflection.   They will get better;  I certainly hope that this wasn't their best game!

18.30    Michael and Janice are back from their walk to Lower Largo;  the weather was mostly cloudy,  but cool.    It's sunny and cool now.   I've had a lazy day getting used to the new TV.   I'm really amazed at the sharpness of the photographs I get off it.   that said the top one is the only one off the television (BBC Sports Channel) Channel;  the other two are in Ivy garden where the Troops did a load of work when they came back.    They only went as far as the Shell Bay Caravan Park.... and had some spare time to work.    I'm always happy  when someone is tidying up the garden!.

When Michael  and Janice were out I watched the Final (Women's) of the tennis from Eastbourne. 

23.00   'The Troops' had a busy day in the garden and the broon bucket is  full.    It's not overly heavy, but it's full of good stuff to make compost!

We've been watching the Nederlands v Japan game:  at the moment The Nederlands are leading 2 - 1, but Japan a lively team and it could go either way.    They're having the Hydration Break just now

The cameras are having difficulty coping with the colour of the Nederlands bright orange strip, which is clashing with the green grass.    

Michael and Janice are going to St Andrews tomorrow;   I'll catch up with the housework;  and watch
any football that's 'on',,,, if any.... in between cat naps.   The weather is going to be much the same as today's;  with a light breeze off the East.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
