Light rain ....
17th June 2026 (Wednesday) 09.30 .... We had light rain earlier, but the sky is brightening
and sunny spells should be with us soon. Heavy rain is mentioned in the weather forecast for KY9 so this looks like being a day of mixed weather. At the moment we have a light breeze from the Southwest, and the sun is on the verge of breaking through!14.00 'Th Troops' are off for a walk along the beach; the sun is breaking through so it should be comfortably warm for a walk.
After breakfast we went up to Cupar to the 'Fisher and Donaldson', Fudge Doughnut Factory and Tearoom, where we had morning tea and an 'energy giving goodie'. In my case it was one of my 'five a day'.
George and I used to work, in Cupar, for Bett Brothers; so this was a bit of a nostalgic run out in the car for me. I've just realised that was 40 odd years ago.; it was a nostalgic run right enough! I need a cuppa!

We've been watching the World cup match between Portugal and Congo DR. African nations have surprised Portugal ... and Spain! Later this evening it's England v Croatia; got to stay up for that one.
I watched a good bit of President Trump's speech to the G7 delegates this afternoon: it was the usual meandering stuff; in fact watching Marco Rubio's actions (US Secretary of State) by the end, told you all you needed to know about the speech!
This will be a late night in bed for me ; I suspect that I may 'sleep in' tomorrow morning.
23.30 England beat Croatia 4 - 2; a good start to their World Cup! England were slow to get really
going; they got an early penalty which helped settle them down, but they dominated the second half.I'm tired after a fairly busy day; the good news is that the cold I had, is on the way out... and I should expect to be frolicsome tomorrow.
