Peaceful kind of morning .....

8th February 2025 (Saturday)     09.40 .... It's a bonnie stat to Saturday, but 'light rain with a gentle Easterly  breeze is forecast'.   Actually that is the forecast for Ellon (Aberdeenshire), and Uckfield (Sunny Sussex) too!   At the moment the sky has a promising look, with a mix of fluffy clouds and blue sky.   That said there are showers about;  there was one passing over when I was out at the bucket 20 minutes ago. ... and the wind is off the watter so we could get 'light rain' at times!  This is going to be day catching up with 'ousework.    20.30   I've had a busy sort of day;  having done 'ousework, watched Six Nations, and had a quiet day really.    Emily's honey is getting my larynx . back to normal at last;  that's after the sore throat I had before Christmas.    It appear strange; but I'm happy that I'm thinking of 'ousework again, because I have not been in the ...

Nice morning .....

7th February 2025 (Friday)     09.00 ....It's a nice morning, but there was rime on top of the car when I first looked out, so it's cauld.    In fact (I've been out to the gate) it's bitterly cold because of the wind chill factor and .... the wind is from the East.   The bike has a fully charged battery, but I don't think I'll be out on it today!   The weather forecast isn't bad .... "sunny intervals with a moderate Easterly breeze";  but it's always going to be cold, especially so when  exposed to the wind! 19.30    My day didn't quite go as I'd hoped;   The Skeith mission wasn't a success.   However I was surprised when two roofers appeared round the back (at patio where I was 'walking' with the 'hurdy gurdy') to fix the storm damage.  The roof damage has been done, they will do the rhone later.    So that was a really successful mission!    And, the next visit to the Skeith ...

Lovely morning .....

6th February 2025 (Thursday)     09.00 .... We have a beautiful sunny morning.... and, near enough, a wall to wall blue sky.   A bonnie day for going out on the bike.... but perhaps a bit cool on the lugs.   I miss  buzzin' round the villages on the bike:  actually I miss buzzin' all over the place on the bike!   Anyway it's a lovely morning for getting out and about.   There's only a light breeze and loads o' sunshine;  let's enjoy it!    I might wash the windows later!    Happy 'me'.     22.30    With it being a lovely day I decided to take a run along to Dysart, picking up Alice on the way.   However Alan (Alice's son in law) was coming to set up her new i-pad so we ended up having a cuppa and chatting;  while Alan was doing all the setting up stuff.   Actually it was an interesting morning.   By the time Alan was finished and away hom...

5th February 2025 (Wednesday)     08.30 .... "Sunny with a moderate breeze" is the weather I have been waiting for;  a good drying day! .... so the weekend washing is going through the machine as I type.    It's a bonnie morning, and should feel warm in the sun, as long as you are sheltered from the cool North Westerly breeze. 15.00    It's a lovely afternoon;  but, my word, there's noticeable drop in the temperature.   I went for the paper(s).... and to the Chemist in the morning:  at that time, 10.00, the air felt warm and I even ventured down to the harbour.   If I went to the harbour now I wouldn't leave the car.  When I left the harbour I intended going home by way of Balbuthie and Kinneuchar, but changed my mind and ended up at 'The Store' (Ainster).   I didn't really need very much shopping but I wanted to get back into my routine.   Storm Ewoyn had raised my stress levels a bit. ...

Overcast with light rain ....

4th February 2025 (Tuesday)    08.30 .... We have a dreich morning at Elie and Earlsferry, but we are going to get sunny spells in the afternoon.  It is going to be sunny and colder tomorrow:  in fact we're to have a few days of sunny and cold weather, beginning with Wednesday.  Today is a computer day;  tomorrow washing day! 20.30    The sunny spells duly arrived, later in the afternoon, and I meandered down to the beach.   I've enjoyed longer spell of sunshine, buy...hey ho ... it was braw to be out;   even though it wasn't the most cheerful looking beach at the time.    I liked the ominous look of the sky.   As you can see in the photo.    That was my afternoon exercise. I took the car along to the garage as per plan, where Ryan twiddled something that it  (the car) liked.  After chatting to Ryan, I went to Methil to see Alice.   She was was busy working on a project;  ...

Overcast and dampish ....

3rd February 2025 (Monday)      12.00     I'm 'in residence' at Ivy once again.    We set off from Auchnagatt at 06.34 and  dropped Jackie at work (in Aberdeen) at 07.30.   Iain then drove drove me home via a stop at Morrison's (Dundee) to buy bread and mild... (and a few other necessities) arriving home at  10.25.   The weather was much the same all the way down, though it is slightly brighter now.   We've had a cuppa... and a Danish pastry.   Lunch is in the oven and should be ready by 12.20. .... so that Iain can set off for Aberdeen at 13.00 ish, to arrive at the office in time for Jackie finishing work.   It has been  a busy morning Iain has set up the laptop and had a walk round 'The Ferry':  I started sorting out the washing for tomorrow.... so all is 'good' at Ivy.   I've even taken the car for a turn round the Ferry. 17.00    Iain left for Aberdeen ...

Overcast but ....

2nd February 2025 (Sunday - Auchnagatt)     09.30 .... the sky is heavy with clouds, some of Former Methil Power Station. which look very rainy like.   At the moment it's dry but light rain is mentioned in the forecast for Auchnagatt.   Iain and Jackie are away for their morning walk;  and I'll have a walk to the end of the driveway after my morning cuppa.   The hedges and bushes aren't flappin' aboot so there's not much of a breeze;   a nice enough mornin'.... but cool. 13.30    We, Jackie Ian and me, went to Mintlaw Garden Centre for morning coffee and snack (in my case an egg  roll).   We then had a wee wander round the Centre (my morning exercise) before making our way back home. The weather continues 'grey', though there are clearer patches of sky towards the  Northwest.   It's slightly warmer than it was yesterday. ... so I might have a wander to the end of the driveway later....
