Bright and breezy .... ....
25th November 2024 (Monday) 09.45 .... After a wild night (the East Fife Weather Station
recorded a gust of 60 mph) the wind is slowly beginning to moderate: but it's still very windy. However it's dry and the sun is out so, apart from the wind, it's a lovely day! A bucket had blown over somewhere, and it's innards were blowing around on Ferry Road. I managed to pick up most of the beer cans. Tricky blighters to catch when there's a wild wind blowing.21.00 'Storm Bert' made 'his' presence felt doe three days; a very naughty boy indeed. The wind was supposed to moderate at some point but in must have been miniscule, because I went up to the golf course to catch the sunset sky and was nearly blown over. I got a few photos but they don't really show just how bonnie the sky was. Give 'Bert' his due; his parting shot was an ominous looking, but bonnie, sunset!
I didn't realise just how strong the wind was until I got up to the phone box. From there on I was on the golf course and trying to take photographs from the lee of the wall at the third green. At this time the wind must have been at least F9. Funnily enough I enjoyed being out; until I was nearly blown over.
I washed one of the huge double sheets ... and hung it out. It dried!.... and has been ironed. I have the other sheet and the pillow cases to do tomorrow. Iain is coming down, either next weekend or the following weekend.
