Bright and breezy .....
15th November 2024 (Friday) 09.00 .... Last night's fog had gone by this morning; to give us
a bright and breezy start to the weekend. It's a mixed up kind o' mornin', but not that cold in the frisky SW wind. In fact it could be a good drying day.... but it's a bit cloudier than I'd hoped for. The 'plan' is to go to the shops after morning coffee: Right now it's breakfast time.19.30 For some reason I fancied a run in the car and ended up going to to 'The Store' to do a weekend shopping. Walking round the aisles gives me some exercise. The shop was busy, but I didn't meet anyone I knew. However I got all I needed then came home by way of the Kellie Castle and Arncroach road.
I expected that the President Elect Trump (USA) would do things 'different'; but acting like the playground bully, and surrounding himself with sycophantic mates is shocking. It must be worrisome for many Americans to see some of the names of people, that are going to be managing important Departments of their country. It's worrisome for the World... not only the US of A. We'd be better to get back to being European again: after all Europe is only 26 miles away! That said he has said that he will bring the Ukraine war to an end; that can only be good.
I had a short walk up to the gold course later in the afternoon; my word it was breezy up there so I didn't hang about, although it wasn't as cold as I thought it would be, out in the open. Actually the course was much busier than I expected!
There's a change coming with the weather. We're to have some rain pass over us during the night, then much colder air is coming our way on Saturday.
23.00 When I looked out earlier this evening I thought it was going to be too cloudy to get a photograph of the last Super Moon of 2024; but when I went out half an hour ago I was able to get a reasonable photo, in between clouds scuttling over on a frisky Westerly wind. This moon is called the 'Beaver' moon, by the American Indians (because beavers are active collection and storing food for the winter).
We have adopted the American names for the moon, but most countries have their own ancient names for the full moons throughout the year.... including us. The Ancient Celts called the November Full Moon the 'Oak Moon', or 'Dark Moon'.

It's a nice night out, but there's a frisky wind and it ain't overly warm!
