Wet and windy ....

23rd October 2026  (Friday)    11.00 .... Iain arrived round about 09.00, before the rain which
didn't get here until 10.00.   It's wet and windy now;  not a nice day to be out.   That said it's nothing like it is in the Southwest, where the full force of Storm Austen is being felt.   Rain is going to be our problem, with the strong winds of Storm Boelo hitting the Northern half of the UK on Saturday and Sunday.    A wild weekend ahead;  definitely not a day for walking the coastal path.   Could be some interesting photographs at high tide time down south!

16.30    With the weather being of the 'iffy' kind, Iain and I have been confined to the house;  Iain working on his photographs, and watching the TV. now and again, with me watching the TV.   Storm Austen has been, as forecast,... wild along the South Coast, as we have seen on the News.    Newquay beach was wild looking;  nothing like it was when we were on holiday there a few years ago.

Iain and I plan on going to Kirkcaldy tomorrow to buy a lightweight Rollator (hurdy gurdy), but that depends on what the weather is like in the morning.   As far as we can see at the moment it could be 'damp' ,with a few sunny spells at first, but by after noon the wind will freshen as Storm Boelo moves in.    If we do go it will be in the morning!

22.45     We're undecided as to whether we should travel to Kirkcaldy in the morning;  the weather forecast is not good.    It's to be windy and wet in the morning, then dry but very windy in the afternoon.    Not a good day for travelling.

Storm Austen has caused  a lot of damage along the south coast of the UK.   It's our turn tomorrow with
Storm Boelo.    It's quiet just now outside, and the rain isn't as heavy as it was.   In fact it should be dry for a few hours before the wind and rain associated with Storm Boelo arrives.
