Nice morning ....

29th October 2026 (Thursday)     09.15 .... It's a quiet morning in KY9;  there's a mix of light
cloud and sunny spells, and.... this is the good bit...  after the past few days of strong winds, we have a light breeze.    I haven't been out yet, but I'm going to hang out the shower towels after this update.

My thoughts, and prayers, this morning are with the families that have lost, or had loved ones injured in the catastrophic train collision in Spain.    And also with the people, that worked so hard rescuing those trapped in the wreckage of the two trains. 

19.30    It has been good having a day with only light winds;  and , not only was the wind light, it has also been warm.    A pleasant change from the windy, and sometimes wet, weather of the past few days.

This morning I went to Methil to annoy Alice;   and, do some shopping in Leven.   After a morning cuppa we went to Sainsbury's, and did the shopping.    The shop was busy;  and, for some unknown reason, it was a friendly crowd in Sainsbury's today.   The only bit that spoilt it all was the bill at the checkout!   And, on the way to Leven I'd topped up the car with fuel, at Colinsburgh Filling Station!    I've had two reminders of the cost of living today;  that was not enjoyable. 

22.30    After a busy day we have one tired 'boy' getting ready for bed tonight.    Tomorrow is going to be a rest day;  and a 'catch up with the News' day.    That reminds me;  I watched the Budget yesterday and thought it a sort of 'hovering' Budget.   I worry about the future for our young folk.  The Government  wants to get young folk off Benefits and into work,    But where are the jobs?   I can understand why young folk are frustrated.

Tomorrow is going to be a 'sunny intervals, with a moderate Southwesterly breeze'  say:  I will do a
jersey wash and have a quiet day around Ivy.    I'll probably go out with the ''hurdy gurdy' in the middle of the day.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Dreich ....

1st November 2019 (Friday)       07.00 .... Mmmmm ... it’s cauld and wet Mmmmm .... not the perfect weather for the beach. as per weather forecast;   a real dreich morning.      I am feeling considerably brighter than the weather and looking forward to morning coffee in ‘arbour ‘ouse..... then spending the rest of the day mostly working on the computer, and doing Soduko’s.    I might bake Melting Moments..... baking and sampling 'MM's is always a cheering occupation on a dreich day. 09.00    The sky to the West is showing promising changes in greyness;   could we be in for a few bright spells?    “Light rain showers and a gentle breeze” is the forecast for today.... but a bright spell would be very welcome.    I haven’t been anywhere further than the pavement when manoeuvring the bucket into its ‘ready for emptying’ position.   I’ll have another cuppa then ‘loup’ into the car an...

Bright and breezy ....

12th June 2026 (Friday)     09.30 ..... It's a lovely morning... and a good drying day!     Michael and Janice will be getting ready to go to Uckfield Station.   Me? .... I had the best night's unbroken sleep in years last night:  I put the light out at 22.45 and woke up at 06.45!     And I had a long hot shower so I'm feeling rested, and  'playful'  this morning.    That said I have the car to 'worry' about;  however the garage will take care of that, and I should get it back in plenty of time to go for Janice and Michael.  Unfortunately I couldn't do the shopping I wanted to do!    That will have to be done tomorrow.     10.00    Apart from putting the downie inside it's cover, Michael and Janice have a bed to fall into tonight!   I'm going to celebrate that by having morning coffee! 11.30     The car is back at the gate.    I...
