Nice morning ....
9th September 2025 (Tuesday) On this date 64 years ago Maggie and I were married,
by the Rev Robin Mitchell, in Kinneuchar Manse. This also means that Mirabel, former waitress at 'The Craw's Nest, is 64 today. So ... "Happy Anniversary to Maggie and 'Me' .... and "Happy Birthday" to Mirabel.08.00 We have a lovely, quiet Autumn morning.... with a sunny day ahead. The wind direction has
changed slightly; backing to the SSE the SE... so it might be cooler in the afternoon.
20.00 I've had a busy and enjoyable day. After a 'morning cuppa' at Alice's, we went to the shops... The Bargain Store and B n Q's. We had a successful mission in both shop; especially B n Q's, where Alice got a tall flower tub, and I got the 'sneck' I was looking for. We then bumbled back to Alice's; where Alice made up a 'turkey'(actually it was chicken) and salad' roll for lunch. We then had a cup o' coffee, and sorted out 'the World' before I set off for home.
Did I say it might be cooler in the afternoon? The patio thermometer reached 24.5C in the afternoon!... definitely 'not cooler'.
When I got back to Ivy, I went to bring in the washing and was struggling because of the heat. I put the kettle on, had a cuppa, then fell asleep for nearly two hours. And it was still hot when I woke up.
I'd planned on taking the buggy out in the afternoon but it was too warm; and I was having to use the 'bloo' inhaler. Tomorrow will be a 'rest day!'
21.30 I don't now what's in the air, but every time I go outside my asthma kicks in; there's a change on with the weather right enough so it's probably that; the temperature has probably dropped since the afternoon! The wind is going to be from the SE again tomorrow .... and tomorrow's a 'potter around the garden' day. Might even have coffee on the patio.
I'm going to make the Horlicks and catch up with the News. Yet again the Middle East is the main headline; I'll catch up with that news.
