Nice Autumn morning ....

24th September 2025 (Wednesday)     08.30 .... We have a lovely sunny morning;  there

still a chill in the air (6.4C), but it will be warm once the sun get's going.... and there's only a light breeze so hardly any wind chill.    After I get  the car tidied up for the MOT, it will be 'play time'.   That said I have 'ousework to do... and a washing to hang out.    Ye Gods ...I'm beginning to feel tired!

16.15   I went to Elie (in the car) to hand in my prescription;  and ended up down at the harbour.   The original plan' was to get the paper(s) but, on leaving the Chemist I saw the 'Time and Tide' van making a delivery.   Got out the camera, took the photie .... promptly forgot the paper(s).   I'd planned to buy one of my 'five a day', in the guise of a Cherry Cake.    "The best laid scheme's o' mice, man and Alberto;  gang aft agley" right enough.

It has been a lovely sunny and warm day:  but it has clouded over in the last hour.   The clouds are heavy enough looking, but I don't think it's going to rain.   I was hoping for a sunny evening so that I could go up to Chapel Green on The Buggy.    It's to be sunny again tomorrow so we'll have it out in the afternoon.

The car is ready for the MOT tomorrow morning;  only to do a wee bit of Hooverin'.



22.30    Iain is driving down in the morning;  he was too tired to consider driving down in the late evening... and it would be dark by the time he got to Dundee.    He's going to go straight to Mercury to pick me up.  
I did the last bit o' cleaning to the car in the early evening;  all I need to do is deliver it to the garage by
09.00.    MOT time is always stressful, though I don't think the car is needing much done to it.   I don't do may miles  nowadays. 

I enjoyed my visit to the harbour, but must start using 'The Buggy' more, so that I can get all the photographs I see when I'm in the car.

Quiet morning ....

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...

Overcast and damp ....

27th December 2024 (Friday)     09.15 ..... from the look of the sky, the place to catch 'sunny spells' is the Borders.   We have another grey and damp morning.   However, the sky is slightly more promising looking than it was yesterday, and sunny spells might drift our way in the afternoon.   If sunny spells do come our way, I might drift down to the beach.    Right now, after a long and good nights sleep, I am well ready for breakfast!   I'm going to grab the 'Radio Times' from Gromit, and see if there's anything worth watching on the TV today! 11.45    I've been up to the baker then home by way of Balbuthie and Kinneuchar.   The sky was mostly overcast at the time, but is beginning to break up now;  so we should get sunny breaks in the afternoon.   I was surprised to find the villages quiet;  with only a few holiday makers wandering around.    21.30     W...
