Light cloud .....

26th November 2025 (Wednesday)     09.15 ....  We had a bright sunrise but sine then the sky has clouded over, and light rain is forecast.    I'm going to Lorraine's to make an appointment to have my haircut;   a badly needed haircut I might add!    It's a nice morning, not as cold as it was yesterday, and less windy so little wind chill.    I need another cuppa before going up to Elie. 15.30    Having had my haircut haircut, I am feeling in an 'almost playful' mood.    Which is a bit of a bummer because the weather (the light rain that was forecast), is not of the 'going out to play' kind.   It's actually really dreich now,   Anyway I've had my haircut, and feel much better for it. When up at Lorraine's I went then 'paper shop' to get  a paper, and a few bits and pieces.   I didn't go to the harbour, but did remember to get a paper.   Two papers in fact, because...

25th November 2025 (Tuesday)       09.30 .....  There's a chilly air, but It's a lovely morning to be out and about.    I hung out the washing before breakfast, and doing that that was cold on the hands.   There's only a light breeze (NW) but it (the washing) should be dry by the end of the day.   I haven't a 'plan' for today, but will probably have a run in the car after morning coffee time.  I'd also like to have a short walk;  perhaps to Nana's Seat.    At the moment the temperature is 2C after an overnight low of 1.2C so the air slowly warming up.    19.00    I've been a busy boy today;  well, busier than I have been for the past few days!    I decided, when having morning coffee, that I'd take 'The Buggy' out.   The temperature at the time was only 4.1C, but I'd wrap myself  up and  have a turn 'roond the Ferry'.   When I was finished with th...

24th November 2025 (Monday)     10.30 .... My word.... I didn't waken up until 08.40 this morning;  I am now 'chasing my tail' trying to catch up, with where I would normally 'be' at this time of day.   The weather is a bit disappointing;  a grey sky with light rain isn't inspiring!    I'll be browsing the archive today.   I actually put a washing 'on' but I can't see that going out on the line.   It's only a wee washing to empty the machine.   Tomorrow is a better forecast for washing.   It's almost 'morning coffee' time and it's not ling since I had breakfast.    It's all 'go' in Ivy this morning.   Well it will be .... after I have the coffee! 14.30   I ventured out for a short walk to the Golf Course then home by Rotten Row;  it was chillier than I expected, but I was wrapped up and really enjoyed being 'out'.    It's a  lovely day now albeit chilly...

23rd November 2025 (Sunday)     11.00 ....  We have dreich start to Sunday, but occasionally the sky shows signs of breaking up;  so, you never know, we might get a few sunny spells later. I went up to Elie (in the car) to get a paper, then discovered that I didn't my wallet with me.  So, I went to the harbour and got a few wet looking photies (that was easy done,  it was rainin' at the time).   I'm now back home, and have just remembered that I had enough loose change in the car to get the paper.    Silly boy. 19.30    I've had a restful day;  and feel much better for it.   The weather has been mixed;  we actually had a decent 'sunny spell' in the middle of the day, but it has been cloudy mostly.   And it was raining again when I went out to the bin  an hour ago.    Most of my day was spent browsing the Alberto Archive';  and watching television.... including  'Fiddl...

22nd November 2025 (Saturday)      10.00 .... We have a nice morning after some overnight rain.... and it's milder than it has been  lately.   It should be a really bonnie, warm, day once the sun burns off the last of the rain clouds.    Alice is coming along on the bus with home made soup, so lunch is well taken care of.     I'm still suffering from the after effects of the 'two in one' jab I had on Wednesday.... and still slightly under the weather.   I certainly won't be having that jab again.   Actually I didn't have a choice this time.    The first of me realising that I had been done with the 'two in one' was when the Nurse said "that's you done".   "Oh... which one have I had?" I asked him.   That was when I found out I'd had the 'two in one'.   Of course it's not the 'two in one' that's the problem;  it's the stuff they have to use to combat the flu' and COVID...

21st November 2025 (Friday)      09.50 .... After a cold night (-2.2c)  we have bright, and chilly, morning with some light cloud, a light breeze..... and sunny spells.   It will be cold on the beach .... and golf course.    I plan on going for a run round the villages in the car after morning coffee:  I'm feeling less sluggish than I was yesterday, but I suspect I'll spend a lot of the day asleep in my chair. 15.15    My word.... i there's a change on wi' the weather.:  the sky has clouded over from the West and there's a rawness to the wind that makes it feel much colder than it actually is.   The thermometer got up to 5C in the afternoon, but it felt more like 1C. My feeling 'less sluggish' today didn't last long;  by morning coffee time I was feeling ;  fatigued is the in word.   I thought you had to do something physical to become fatigued;  in which case I became 'fatigued' getting out ...

20th November 2025 (Thursday)      10.00 .... It's a beautiful morning, but cold out.    The lowest thermometer reading overnight was -0.8C.   It has risen to 1.2C since sunrise;  but I don't think it's going to feel very warm all day.   There's frisky wind from the North so it's bitterly cold exposed to that wind.   I might go for a run in the car later.     We are lucky that the bad weather is missing us (apart from the cold wind). Apart from a slight headache, the jabs (jab singular actually) haven't bothered me too much.   I've had a litre of water since I got 'up';  now I'm going to have another cuppa.    16.15   The wind certainly took at least  couple of degrees off the temperature out in the open;  and it only reached 5C  sheltered from the wind.   I went up to Chapel green (in the car) after lunch, then  to Kinneuchar for a wee run.  ...

19th November 2025 (Wednesday)     10.00 ..... It's a lovely, sunny morning, but cold.   The thermometer was at - 0.7C this morning;  the first time it's had a negative reading since I got it in March (birthday present).    It's never going to be overly warm today, but, thankfully there's only a light breeze so little in the way of wind chill.  As I'm going for my booster jabs at midday I've been busy peeling tautties, and getting everything ready for dinner tonight.   Sausages and mash.   Must 'go'.... slight "Flap On";  it's "early morning coffee" time. I had an exciting  dream last night! .....Scotland was in the final of the World Cup 2026!    And most of Scotland supporters were on tranquillisers!    19.30    As you can see from the top photo the Lomond Hills (affectionately known in the good auld days as 'The Paps o' Fife) have a light covering of snow this morning.  ...

18th November 2025 (Tuesday)     11.30 ....  I'm late with 'The Hutte ....not because I've been  malingering or anything like that;  I've been busy.     The 'Master Plan' was to go to Lorraine's, and make an appointment to get my haircut.   However Lorraine isn't working today, so that was the end of that 'plan'.   By this time I was 'fired up', and in the mood to do something;  I took a couple of wet looking photographs in Elie!   Then I made up my mind to go to 'The Store';  it was, at that time, a good kind of day for wandering round a shop! .... and  I''d stop at the 'Paper Shop' on the way home. 'The Store'was quiet, not surprising on a morning like is has been.   Anyway, I wandered round the shop bought  a fair amount of vital needed foodstuff;  and some vitally needed ... er .... 'goodies'.  On the way home I noticed that the rain wasn't as heavy as it was on the wa...

17th November 2025 Monday)     09.30 .... We have a 'wall to wall' sunny sky just now, with a light breeze.   The temperature is 5.5C after an overnight low of 1.0C;  and, although chilly, it's really pleasant in the sunshine.  This could be a play day; ....after another cuppa (or two).    10.30    The golf course was busier than I thought it would be, when I went round The Ferry in the car.  It is definitely a 'play day';  and I might get The Buggy 'out  in the middle of the day.   I want to do a wee bit o' 'work' before 'play'.   I'll see how the mood takes me after morning coffee. 16.30    It has been a lovely, bright sunny day, albeit a chilly one.   The thermometer only got up to 6.2C, but, with the breeze being light there was very little wind chill, or it might have felt really cold.    The golfers were well wrapped up;  as I was,  and I was in the ca...

16th November 2025     "Happy Birthday" to 'Sorley' who is 1 today! 11.30 .... It's a bonnie, wall to wall sunshine, kind of morning;  but it is chilly.     It was only 4.9C when I checked the patio thermometer half an hour ago.   There's only a light breeze so hardly any wind chill, so he air doesn't feel as cold as it was yesterday. I went to Elie for the paper, then to the harbour:  and was surprised to find it busy.   One of the skiffs  (Sea Queen) was out, and some hardy folk in for a swim  The swimmers were making for the sauna when I saw them.   The Cafe, "Elie Coffee Hatch", at the Sailing Club was 'open', and I thought of having a coffee;  but the skiff was being rowed round from Woodhaven Bay to Elie Bay, and I wanted photographs of it.    The 'plan'? .... make a mug o' coffee now,  then have a look at today's photies. 17.00    There's a wintry feel to the air tonight;...

15th November 2025 (Saturday)     We had a sunny start to Saturday, but a whole lot of clouds have drifted over in the past hour and it now looks like we could have showers.    I went for a paper, then down to the harbour  to take a few 'today' photos .  There's a chilly breeze but I was well wrapped up and didn't find it overly cauld at the harbour.    I came home by way of Kinneuchar and Colinsburgh, to fuel up the car.    Colinsburgh Main Street is looking very smart after being resurfaced and relined etc.   It looked to me that the 'parking'  bays have been made slightly wider to accommodate the new wider cars.    Maybe it's just because the lines are new and more noticeable.    It could be tricky taking a big grain lorry through Colinsburgh.  When I think of Colinsburgh Main Street 70 years ago, with only a few carts in the whole village, compared to now.  However, that is progr...

14th November 2025 (Friday)    10.00 .... We have a beautiful, albeit chilly, start to the weekend:  there's a wintry feel to the air, and snow on the mountain tops.   At the moment the temperature is 4.1C on the patio;  but it will feel much colder out in the open.    I won't be going 'out into the open'.  There are some bonnie, wintry looking clouds.   Actually, I might wrap up and have a walk up to the golf course:  it's far to cold for me to go out on The Buggy just now.   .That reminds me;  I must phone Mercury Motors to find out about the car. 19.00    The highest temperature on the patio today was only 8.2C;  the squally showers kept blotting out the sun.    The same squally showers gave us some interesting clouds;  so I was a 'happy boy'.   I phoned the garage at morning coffee time!   The car was ready to uplift so I then phoned Myra to ask if she could ...

13th November 2025 (Thursday)      09.15 .... We have a dreich morning;  it's wet, windy and  cold, with the the wind being from the Northeast.   Luckily I have the boiler cupboard to keep me occupied for a good part of the morning.   And I'll be browsing the Archive.    At times I think the sky is brightening, but I think that is  wishful thinking.   You never know;  we might have a brighter end to the afternoon.   I certainly won't be going anywhere until the rain stops. 16.00    There was a slightly brighter interlude in the wet weather around lunch time, when we had only a light drizzle, but that didn't last long... and the sun never broke through.   Since then the rain has increased in intensity and we've had a really wet and gloomy day. Elizabeth (my kirk Elder) came round in the afternoon, delivering a letter from the Kirk to update us on the changes that are ongoing with the...

1 2th November 2025 (Wednesday)     08.45 ..... There's a chillier air this morning, but it's dry  and we should have sunny spells once the sun is higher.   Actually this could be a good drying day so I'll  do  a washing while waiting for the boiler engineer.   He's due in the afternoon.    Ferry Road is starting to get busy with traffic.    I was thinking of taking  'The Buggy' out but the cold wind has put me off that idea. 17.15    The time given to me for the arrival of the  boiler engineer was 14.30;  and that is 'iggzactly' when he arrived.   That's the best timing ever!    I just left him (actually there might have been two) get on with the job, while I sat down to watch something on the tele.   I was asleep in 'nae time' and only woke up when the engineer called to let me know that he'd finished and needed a signature.   Normally I offer them a ...

11th November 2025 (Tuesday)      Armistice Day "We shall remember them".  09.30 .... We had a red sunrise (bonnie....not a good weather sign) but we now have a grey gloomy looking  sky, with a brisk SW breeze, and Light rain forecast.   The late afternoon might be brighter with 'sunny spells'. 19.30    The weather has been wet and gloomy all day, but I have been busy.   I organised a boiler service;  which is going to take place tomorrow afternoon, so that gave me some work to do,, emptying shelve in the boiler cupboard. I watched the Armistice Day Commemoration  on BBC, then did some stuff on the computer;  including catching up with my emails.  My afternoon siesta was longer than usual, but that would be because I am still tired after yesterday.   I had hoped for 'sunny spells' so that i could go out for a short walk... but, as I've already mentioned, the sunny spells never happened.    I...

10th November 2025 (Monday)      07.45 .... We've had some rain overnight, but the sky, although mostly cloudy, has some clearer patched.   'Light rain' is forecast' so I'm looking for sunny spells later in the afternoon. I'm ready for the trip to Kirkcaldy... and even remembered my hearing aids.    Ans the car keys.   I'm feeling 'bright eyed and bushy tailed' this morning.    It has taken a while but the good news is;   I think the bug has gone. 19.00     This has been a busy day;  and an interesting one.   Sandy came for me at 09.00, we then went to Alice's where we had a cuppa, before going on to the Victoria Hospital.  Sandy dropped us off at the hospital (in plenty of time) then went off home.    I got booked in, then Alice and I walked from Main Reception to the scanning dept, where patients are injected with thee radio active stuff.   We then had three hours t...
