10th December 2025 (Wednesday)     10.45 ....  We have a nice, sunny and breezy morning;  and it's not as cold as I expected it to be.   There's a drying wind so I've hung out a small washing (it will probably get an extra rinse from the showers that are forecast).   The 'drying'  wind is mopping up the water that  was lying around;  but there's more rain to come.   It's the 'Atlantic Lows' season.   I'll have a cuppa before going for the paper.   15.30    It had been a breezy old day;  with heavy showers now and again.   Yes .... the washing had had another couple of rinses.   It's only a small washing so I'm not that bothered;  it's to be a better 'drying day' tomorrow.   I think ... er hope! 9th December 2025 (Tuesday)     09.45 .... Hmmmmm .... We have a dreich morrrrrrrning.   The Fife Weather cams all show grey and wet;  except the Kinghorn one! .... which has a breaking sky to the South West of Edinburgh.    At the moment there's not much wind, but it will  freshen, to give us a wild and wet night ahead.   Perhaps the breaking sky will come our way for a wee while., but I'm not going to bother with the sun cream.    On a positive note;  dust levels are low! 17.00     As you can see from the top photo we had a lot of rain overnight; even  Chapel Green was wet.   This was taken just after the rain stopped and the dog walkers, like me, took advantage of that.   I met Grizelda up  at Chapel Green, walking her daughter's Jack Russell, and we could see other walkers on the beach.    It was actually quite warm.   I had another walk up to the p...

8th December 2025 (Monday)     08.45 .... Although raining just now, the Fife Weather Cams are showing a clearing sky ;  do the rain should stop soon to give us 'sunny spells'.    I'm disappointed with the rain, because when I went to bed last night the rain had stopped.   Obviously that was just a temporary 'blip'.    Anyway it's raining just now, but not as heavy as it was yesterday evening.    I'll go up to the paper shop once the sun gets going. 12.30     We have lovely sunny day now... and there's a drying breeze that will mop up the puddles after last night's rain. 7th December 2025 (Sunday)    10.15....  I've been watching 'The Weatherman Walking in Wales, and that was followed by 'Countryfile';  both interest programmes.    Now? .... it's time to  catch up with our 'today'! We have a dull and damp start to Sunday, with not much happening .... even the birds seem to be 'waiting' for something to happen.    I'll put some more crumbs out for 'Blob' and friends after this update.   At the moment the weather is more or less the same as it was yesterday at this time, and it's not very promising looking.   "Heavy rain with a moderate breeze" is forecast for KY9, so I probably won't be going far;  on foot anyway.    12.30    I eventually went for a run in the car.   I meant to stop at the paper shop but there was a lot of traffic manoeuvring at the time , so I did the Balbuthie/ Kinneuchar run instead;  and Colinsburgh Petrol station.    T...

6th December 2025 (Saturday)     09.00 .... At the moment we have light rain coming in from the North Sea, but, after the breeze goes round to the West, as it is forecast to do, the weather should improve.  The Fife Weather Kinghorn cam ,already shows this improvement!    Actually, the weather is to be a bit mixed for the next few days, with a lot of damp and showery spells.   Funnily enough the air feels warmer,;   and I'm feeling 'playful''.    However, I don't think I'll be going down to the beach just now.    16.00   You can see from the photo what kind of weather we had when I went out this morning.   I had a quick run up to Chapel Green before going to Elie to hand in my prescription, and for the paper.   It was raining at that time, with hardly any breeze:  this meant that traffic fumes were lingering in the air... as I discovered when I left the car to go to the shops. ...

5th December 2025 (Friday)    09.45 ..... We have a nice quiet start to Friday, but 'light rain with a moderate breeze' is the weather forecast for today.   That's a bit of a bummer, because I was thinking of going for a turn round the villages on the bike:  and I have a small washing going through the machine.   It can hang on a claes horse in front of a radiator so there's no problem with the washing.   We had some red in the sunrise sky and that's not a good sign.    Bonnie, but not good,    At the moment there's only a light breeze, but the wind is to freshen to  frisky later in the afternoon. 19.00    Although the weather has been mixed I've had an enjoyable day.    I ended up having a run up to Chapel Green in the car, rather than the bike, because of the cool air... and the treat of light showers.   This is of course a funny time of year;  everything is, sort of 'waiting' for ...

4th December 2025 (Thursday)      11.00 .... It's a lovely morning;   light cloud and sunny spells, with a cool breeze;  and  there is the chance of a shower.   I'm organised for 'The Shot Inn'.   I actually toyed with taking 'The Buggy' down but the chance of showers changed that plan.   We have had a few spots of rain but not a proper shower so far:   it's back to the original 'plan'.... 3rd December 2025 (Wednesday)     09.00 ..... We can look forward to "sunny intervals with a light southerly breeze', for the whole of today;  no mention of showers.   This means it could be a good drying day for the downie cover going through the machine just now.  However, in spite of the wind direction, there's a chilly air;  at the moment it's 5.4C.    A nice day ahead, but with a bit of wind chill. 14.30    The 'drying day I hoped for has been a bit of a bummer;  a whole  an hour and half of a  heavy rain 'shower' put paid to that.   Unfortunately I had gone to 'The Store' so wasn't in a position to bring in  the downie: there's still a bit of a drying breeze so I'll bring it in last thing in the afternoon.   'The Store' mission was successful, so I'm a 'happy boy'.    That said, the busy day I had yesterday caught up with me, and I've spent most of the afternoon sleeping....

2nd December 2025 (Tuesday)     08.15 .... We have a'bright and breezy' morning;  with a drop Dysart. in temperature, and wind chill .   I don't think the beach will be busy just now;   and I'm not going down to find out.   The washing is flapping nicely in the wind so, barring being caught by a shower, it should dry today.    'Sunny, with a moderate breeze' is the weather forecast.   I'm going to Methil to annoy Alice;  and we might go down to Leven to the High Street shops,    Must 'go'... slight 'Flap On' .... need an early morning dose of caffeine.  19.15    It has been a lovely sunny day;  yes it has been cold in the wind, but it was also good drying wind so Alberto is one happy boy tonight.   The washing I left out last night is ready to be ironed. 1st December 2025 (Monday)     10.30 .... I've been watching the News and see that some folk think Rachel Reeves (Chancellor) should resign.    If she did resign, it wouldn't make one iota of a difference;  it would only be a different shoulder for the Labour parrot to perch on!  It's much warmer (8.9C just now) this morning, with a mostly cloudy sky,  'light rain' forecast.   The sky is brightening,  so re could be the chance of 'sunny spells':  if that happens we could have a pleasant day.   I'm in a 'positive'  mood, and have washing going through the machine,     16.00    I've done exactly what I planned to do on the Monday holiday:   had a good rest day.    I hung out a small washing but it never was going to dry;  especially after it was caught with a shower in the afternoon.    Tomorrow should be  better drying day , so I'll leave it (the wa...

30th November 2025 (Sunday)     14.00 ....It had been (and still is) a lovely sunny day;  but it  is also a  cold one.   The temperature is 5.8C just now, and is on the way down.   Iain is off home to Auchnagatt after setting the central heating to the winter  times and temperatures.   He also sorted out the cameras, so, though we didn't get much done outside, vital things have been done inside.  Where  it's warm.... and not far from the kettle! 29th November 2025 (Saturday)    09.30 .... It's cloudy and cold just now (overnight low (4.5C;  now 4.8C) with a damp air.   Not \ a morning for the beach.    We're going to Leven after this update. 14.30    Iain and I have completed the Leven (Sainsbury's) mission, and came home with a load of interesting foodstuffs;  even the odd 'goodie'.   Iain needs Gluten free so I bought Gluten free Millionaire's Shortbread, a different kind of 'goodie'.   Definitely an 'odd' goodie.    It tastes much the same as 'Common Millionaire's Shortbread', but slightly smaller portions.     It has been bitterly cold with the wind being from the NW;  even inside Sainsbury's it felt cooler that it normally does.  We were early so the shop wasn't crowded with bodies.  One lassie that I spoke to, gave me her cold hands to hold;  and they were  cold.   Reminded me of when Maggie c...

28th November 2025 (Friday)       09.15 ....  It's sunny, windy, and cold (7.4C just now).    When I got out of bed, at 06.45, I was feeling frisky;  since then, the frisky feeling has dropped faster than the temperature, and  this is now a 'rest day'.    When the frisky feeling was on me I was contemplating driving to Leven and Methil;  now I'll go as far as the 'Paper Shop'.   Another cuppa is next on the 'to do' list;  before I go anywhere. 12.00    There's a bit of a breeze this morning .... looks like F9 out in the Firth.   With the wind being so strong it's cold out in the open.    It would be a nice day if it wasn't windy. 27th November 2025 (Thursday)    10.00 .... We have a grey, damp and bleak start to the day;  but it's much warmer!.... 12.4C.   If the sun would break through (we might be lucky) we'd have a bonnie summer like day!   'Light rain and gusty winds' is the forecast doe KY9.    The wind is to freshen in the afternoon; and overnight through to Friday,  up to F4 - 5. 16.00     The wind has begun to freshen, and is forecast to reach Gale Force (F7 - 8) overnight and tomorrow morning, then moderate late tomorrow afternoon. We've had a day of mixed weather, including a long sunny spell in the middle of the day.    With the increasing wind velocity ,the sky is clearing just now.    It has been warm;  12.9C was the highest  reading today.  With the stronger winds it will be colder tonight and tomorrow due to wind chill.  What have I been doing today?   After morning coffee I decided ...

26th November 2025 (Wednesday)     09.15 ....  We had a bright sunrise but sine then the sky has clouded over, and light rain is forecast.    I'm going to Lorraine's to make an appointment to have my haircut;   a badly needed haircut I might add!    It's a nice morning, not as cold as it was yesterday, and less windy so little wind chill.    I need another cuppa before going up to Elie. 15.30    Having had my haircut haircut, I am feeling in an 'almost playful' mood.    Which is a bit of a bummer because the weather (the light rain that was forecast), is not of the 'going out to play' kind.   It's actually really dreich now,   Anyway I've had my haircut, and feel much better for it. 25th November 2025 (Tuesday)       09.30 .....  There's a chilly air, but It's a lovely morning to be out and about.    I hung out the washing before breakfast, and doing that that was cold on the hands.   There's only a light breeze (NW) but it (the washing) should be dry by the end of the day.   I haven't a 'plan' for today, but will probably have a run in the car after morning coffee time.  I'd also like to have a short walk;  perhaps to Nana's Seat.    At the moment the temperature is 2C after an overnight low of 1.2C so the air slowly warming up.    19.00    I've been a busy boy today;  well, busier than I have been for the past few days!    I decided, when having morning coffee, that I'd take 'The Buggy' out.   The temperature at the time was only 4.1C, but I'd wrap myself  up and  have a turn 'roond the Ferry'.   When I was finished with th...

24th November 2025 (Monday)     10.30 .... My word.... I didn't waken up until 08.40 this morning;  I am now 'chasing my tail' trying to catch up, with where I would normally 'be' at this time of day.   The weather is a bit disappointing;  a grey sky with light rain isn't inspiring!    I'll be browsing the archive today.   I actually put a washing 'on' but I can't see that going out on the line.   It's only a wee washing to empty the machine.   Tomorrow is a better forecast for washing.   It's almost 'morning coffee' time and it's not ling since I had breakfast.    It's all 'go' in Ivy this morning.   Well it will be .... after I have the coffee! 14.30   I ventured out for a short walk to the Golf Course then home by Rotten Row;  it was chillier than I expected, but I was wrapped up and really enjoyed being 'out'.    It's a  lovely day now albeit chilly...

23rd November 2025 (Sunday)     11.00 ....  We have dreich start to Sunday, but occasionally the sky shows signs of breaking up;  so, you never know, we might get a few sunny spells later. I went up to Elie (in the car) to get a paper, then discovered that I didn't my wallet with me.  So, I went to the harbour and got a few wet looking photies (that was easy done,  it was rainin' at the time).   I'm now back home, and have just remembered that I had enough loose change in the car to get the paper.    Silly boy. 19.30    I've had a restful day;  and feel much better for it.   The weather has been mixed;  we actually had a decent 'sunny spell' in the middle of the day, but it has been cloudy mostly.   And it was raining again when I went out to the bin  an hour ago.    Most of my day was spent browsing the Alberto Archive';  and watching television.... including  'Fiddl...

22nd November 2025 (Saturday)      10.00 .... We have a nice morning after some overnight rain.... and it's milder than it has been  lately.   It should be a really bonnie, warm, day once the sun burns off the last of the rain clouds.    Alice is coming along on the bus with home made soup, so lunch is well taken care of.     I'm still suffering from the after effects of the 'two in one' jab I had on Wednesday.... and still slightly under the weather.   I certainly won't be having that jab again.   Actually I didn't have a choice this time.    The first of me realising that I had been done with the 'two in one' was when the Nurse said "that's you done".   "Oh... which one have I had?" I asked him.   That was when I found out I'd had the 'two in one'.   Of course it's not the 'two in one' that's the problem;  it's the stuff they have to use to combat the flu' and COVID...

21st November 2025 (Friday)      09.50 .... After a cold night (-2.2c)  we have bright, and chilly, morning with some light cloud, a light breeze..... and sunny spells.   It will be cold on the beach .... and golf course.    I plan on going for a run round the villages in the car after morning coffee:  I'm feeling less sluggish than I was yesterday, but I suspect I'll spend a lot of the day asleep in my chair. 15.15    My word.... i there's a change on wi' the weather.:  the sky has clouded over from the West and there's a rawness to the wind that makes it feel much colder than it actually is.   The thermometer got up to 5C in the afternoon, but it felt more like 1C. My feeling 'less sluggish' today didn't last long;  by morning coffee time I was feeling ;  fatigued is the in word.   I thought you had to do something physical to become fatigued;  in which case I became 'fatigued' getting out ...
