Crackin' mornin' ....
21st
January 2020 (Tuesday) 10.00 .... It’s
a really nice morning... and
it isn’t as cold as it has been for the past
couple of days. I have been a semi busy
boy so far today; the washing is on the
line, and I have been to the beach to catch the sunrise. I didn’t think I’d get the bike out today
but it isn’t as windy as I thought it would be so I might just go for a scuttle
round the villages later.
11.30 I’m happy to see the wind freshening... it makes today a good dryin’ day! Oh .... I have been talking to ‘our’ sign writer (nae surprise there), Mick McManus is his name and he was a professional footballer in his youth playing (on the right wing... No7 jersey in those days) for Motherwell, Hamilton Accies and Montrose in a footballing career that lasted from 1975 – 1987. Chatting to Mick made, what had
been a ‘run
of the mill’ kind of day, into an interesting one. I have downloaded a
photo of him in his
footballing days (courtesy of a Motherwell website). It’s not the best of days for sign
writing; there's not much movement involved so it can be cold. I remember one winter at Scone .... no ... nae mair reminiscing!
18.30 Thinking that I would be the only one out on a bike this afternoon I set off to do a tour of the villages but ... oh my word .... I met George ‘haring’ along towards the Royal Burgh. We went to Ivy for a cuppa .... and had a good catch up chat. After the cuppa I escorted George back to South Street (on my way to the ‘Paper Shop’). It was a ‘nae bad’ day for being out on the bike though the wind had freshened.... but not enough to dry my washing completely.... but perfect for ironing. That reminds me .... I have an ironing to do.

22.30 Er ... the ironing will be done tomor...
in the near future; being that I have
been busy doing stuff on the computer most of the evening. Tomorrow I will be going
to the Guild Burns
Lunch in the Kirk Hall so I won’t need to bother with making dinner: the Burn’s Lunch is tomorrows ‘plan’. Tomorrow’s weather forecast is ‘nae bad’ so
I’ll have wander to the beach before breakfast.... then have a wee potter
around the garden; I actually did a bit
of pottering around the garden this morning. Thursday I
intend having my haircut and visiting Jim.
