Feeling frisky ....

moderate breeze” is the weather forecast for KY9 today.... and it’s not too cold so a good morning for having a haircut.  
 
09.00    I had a change of mind and went down to the harbour in the car for a walk round but there wasn’t much going on, and the sunrise though bonnie, wasn’t spectacular.   It was, as it always is at the harbour, cauld on the lugs.   The ‘plan’ was to pick up the papers on the way home but I didn’t have any money with me so that never happened.   I’ll get them on my way home from Leven.   Orf to have breakfast.

13.30    Once again we have the streamlined version of ‘me’;   I’ve had my haircut.   My lugs are cauld.  I was lucky when I went to the hairdressers as she had just started work so I got taken right away, and was in Stuart’s for a cuppa and a scone by 10.45.

The windscreen washers dried up just as I got to Leven  so I had to buy a gallon of windscreen wash to get them active again;  the roads are too muddy to drive anywhere without washers.   When I think about that I should have taken the car through the car wash:  I’ll do that tomorrow as In didn’t visit Jim today because I ran out of time before lunchtime at the Care Home.
The sky has clouded over in the past hour or so and it dull and cold now.   The bike will stay in the Hutte today;  if I do go anywhere in the afternoon it will be in the car.

16.30    For some obscure reason I decided that I fancied something with chicken in it for dinner so there’s a chicken casserole in the oven.   I didn’t go out anywhere although it has been a bonnie enough day to be out with the camera..... loads of clouds

etc.... in fact at times I thought we could get rain.   But that never happened.   I did do some work on the computer .... there’s a lot more to do but I am enjoying finishing off a project that Maggie and I started 11 years ago:  I only ‘picked it up’ again a few months ago and it has been an emotional journey.
19.30    For me this has been a strange kind o’ day;  I dinnae seem to have achieved much but I’m relaxed and even tired at the end of it.   Oh, I forgot ... I did some work on the computer and that pleased me .... that’s why I’m happy.

I’m wondering if I should visit Jim tomorrow morning being that I missed that today.  The weather forecast isn’t that exciting so it could be a perfect day for visiting.   I’ll have an early night in bed and make my mind up in the morning.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
