Cloudy but bonnie ....


24th January 2020 (Friday)       09.30 .... It’s breezy with a bit more
10 minutes before sunrise.
cloud about this morrrrrrrning, and Largo Law has a cap of cloud not normally a good sign.    I’ve been down to the harbour in the car, and it’s breezy down there: it’s Jimmy’s car it does the harbour run on automatically.   I’m thinking of washing the car;  I’d do it on the street but it’s a bit cauld for that so the car wash it will be.    I’m feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning .... might even do some work.   
Breakfast!    I haven't had food this morning;  silly boy.


14.00      As is my wont I changed my mind and washed the car on the street.... and managed to get my feet wet, before going to Leven to visit Jim.   Jim was having a mug of coffee in the Dining Room :  so I got myself a glass of water and joined him.    I didn’t take in any goodies today.... a sudden whim had me going down to the Care

Home via the Baptist Kirk road thus missing all the shops.   We talked about my love life .... that didn’t take long ... and about new plans afoot for the village.   Jim got the gist of what I was talking about and contributed to the conversation.   The Carers began bringing in the wheel chairs for lunch so I bumbled off;  I didn’t even go to Sainsbury’s.... I couldn’t think of anything that I needed .... or fancied:  that's good.... it means I'm well stocked up with vital supplies.


21.00    I had planned to wash a couple of jerseys tomorrow but the weather forecast isn’t that good;  not good enough for drying jerseys anyway.   It’s to be breezy and cloudy.   I might make a start to clearing out the greenhouse having bought some heavy duty bin bags the other day for that job:  the plan is grow some Gardeners Delight tomatoes.   The cactuses are the only things almost growing in there now .... and they

need to be re-potted etc.   I bought cactus compost and feeding the other day for them but I can’t do much until the Spring.... other than clear out the greenhouse.
This has been a fairly quiet day for me though I did go to the beach at around sunset time.    We’ve had some interesting skies today especially at sunrise and sunset.   The light is always good then.    Sunset itself happened behind low cloud.
I think I will have a lie in tomorrow morning.... have a good rest before tackling the greenhouse.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
