Colinsburgh lunch .....
31st
August 2016 (Wednesday)
.... 14.30 Oh ... we have had a
challenging morning: it looked like ‘M’
had lost all of her photographs, on a faulty memory stick. However I eventually managed to get the
stick to work enough to be
able to transfer three quarters of the photos to my
laptop. We need to get a new memory stick
so that ‘M’ can have those, to look back on the happy times she had in Bonnie Scotland!
Most of the problem was solved
before we went up to Colinsburgh for lunch.
This morning at Elie |
23.59 This has been a ‘never had time to stop’
sort of day..... and I shall be glad to get into bed with my book. When ‘M’ and I got back to Ivy from lunch,
we tried to find her flight path from ‘Hong Kong to Auckland; but couldn’t. Then we discovered that the flight ‘Hong
Kong to Auckland had been changed, and was now NZ80 (instead of LH7158). It’s a
good job this is only me having a
trial run at following the whole flight from Edinburgh to Wellington.... the
real flight will be on Tuesday of next week.

We
went to Sainsbury’s to get ‘M’ a new Memory stick, and a new card for her
camera. I am now the proud owner of a
new SD card for my camera, as the card we did get was not compatible with ‘M’s
camera: Joyful me. When in Sainsbury’s
we had coffee..... a croissant and a big
piece of carrot cake, between us;
joyful “Puku”! When having
‘dinner’ in the Nineteenth Hole we would regret this!.... having the croissant
and the carrot cake. I bought pasta
because pasta is going to figure, increasingly in “Puku’s” new diet .... (as
yet unbeknownst to “Puku”).
As
I mentioned we had dinner in the “19th Hole”.... and most enjoyable it
was. The food was excellent, and the
service perfect. I will go back there
again. After dinner
we went along to
Joyce and Dave’s: Joyce and ‘M’ were ‘best
friends’ at school,.... this evening there
was much reminiscing, and laughter. The
evening ended with “au revoir”, because ‘m’ goes home next week.

When
we got back to Ivy we found a message on the answer machine: it was Lexie letting ‘M’ know that one of
their “Dyker” friends, Lillias Gay, had
died suddenly this morning. ‘M’,
who had been at Mounturpie for lunch
with Lillias recently, is much saddened by this news.
