Windy, overcast but warm morning .....
30th
August 2016 (Tuesday)
... 08.00 There’s a fair wind this
morning, and it is cloudy as per weather forecast, but it’s dry and
warm(ish); a nice enough morning for
being ‘out’. I don’t think rain is
forecast for the east Neuk, though the
clouds do look heavy enough for the odd
shower. An interesting fact re this
date, in 1146: European leaders outlawed the crossbow with a
view to ending wars for all time.

I’d
better get a move on .... I’m picking up ‘M’ in an hour and a half! .... and
Ivy, though looking ‘nae bad’ , is slightly ‘man cave’ looking! I’ll take my BP pill!
22.00 We’ve had a busy day; ‘M’ needed stuff doing in Leven, so we spent
about four hours in Leven, this included coffee in Stuart’s, shopping and a
‘lite bite’ lunch in Sainsbury’s, then home to ‘base camp’ in time to entertain
Jimmy with an afternoon cuppa in the Hutte.
I noticed some Black headed gulls acting strangely over the Thistle Clubhouse
area; they were feeding. I don’t know what they were getting to eat
but it had to be an insect of some kind, and there were a lot of them
(insects). It would take a lot of
insects to feed one gull, and there were nigh on thirty gulls having a feeding
frenzy! Meanwhile, while I am watching
the gulls, Jimmy and ‘M’ where having a
‘feeding frenzy’ of their own .... scoffing Custard Cream biscuits.
‘M’
and I decided we’d eat in the 19th Hole today but they weren’t serving meals
this
evening. I booked a table for
tomorrow evening, the last time we’ll be able to have a meal out together,
before ‘M’ goes back home: I take ‘M’
back to St Monans on Thursday. We have
been watching the flight, from Edinburgh to Frankfurt that ‘M’ will be on next
week... No LH965. At Frankfurt ‘M’
will board the international flight No, LH796,
to Hong Kong, then No LH 7158
from ‘ong Kong to Auckland: and finally
flight No NZ 429 for Wellington.... arriving Wellington at 13.05 on Thursday.

‘The
beach was busy this evening, when ‘M’ and I decided to go for a short evening
stroll: we ended up feeling rather
hungry because some folks were having a BBQ, on the beach; it smelt good.
The
‘plan’ for tomorrow has been formulated, though it could be subject to change.
The weather is forecast to be ‘warm and
sunny’ (it was 22c in Ivy garden today).
We’re going up to Colinsburgh to the ‘Lite Bite Lunch’, down to the
beach in the afternoon, then dinner in the 19th, followed by going along to say
“cheerio” to Joyce and Dave in the evening.
Busy day tomorrow.
