August 2016 (Monday)
.....09.30 We have a ‘bright, and
very breezy’ morning; however the wind
is forecast to moderate in the afternoon.
We hope to go

to ‘Fitty’ later but are waiting on a delivery.... and the
weather.
21.00 Change of ‘plan’; ‘Fitty’ is ‘on’ for tomorrow. Today ‘M’ and I went down to Ellon for a
walk along the Ythan side, and to have a look at the ‘Old Bridge of Ellon’; and, most importantly, ‘M’ wanted to buy
some postcards. Welll .... you can’t
buy postcards in Ellon because we couldn’t find a shop that sold them. However we did find a coffee shop, but it
was full of prams and bairns so we bought an ice cream instead; we were ‘frozen’ after eating the ice cream
and had to go back to Sooper Buggy to get oor jackets, before taking a walk
around the bridges. Oh I managed to cause a state of ‘slight
pandemonium’ at a road junction in Ellon.
I drove down a One Way street and went into the right hand junction at
the bottom to turn right; only problem
was: the bottom 50 metres of the street
was two way traffic. Result ... slight
chaos, but everyone waited until I got into

the right lane. I don’t think I am the first person to
have done this.
From
Ellon we went to Aden Country Park where I thought we were sure to find
postcards. Everything was ‘closed’ so
we went to Maud Post Office. They
didn’t have any post cards either but suggested that Mintlaw Garden Centre
would. Mintlaw Garden Centre, which is
about half a mile from Aden Country Park, where we had been earlier, had six
(PC’s) .... of Eilean Donan Castle, which, though bonnie is on the other side
of Bonnie Scotland. ‘M’ bought one. We intended having coffee here but by this
time in the afternoon the coffee shop was ‘closed’. The ‘plan’
is to go to Aberdeen

tomorrow with the troops and Iain, so ‘M’ should get her post cards
eventually..... hopefully ‘local’ view ones;
and we’ll all have coffee in one of the local coffee shops that Jackie
recommends. It is fairly obvious that
Monday’s are not good days for buying postcards around the North East.
It
looks like we’re in for another ‘bright and breezy with showers later’ day
tomorrow; but not quite as breezy as today. It is to be cooler!
