18th March 2019   (Monday) .... 08.00    We have an absolute cracker of a Earlsferry beach at 08.15. morning in Elie and Earlsferry.... near enough ‘wall to wall’ blue sky, with only a light breeze to add a wee bit of wind chill.    There was a touch of frost at sunrise time but the sun has shifted that and it is a perfect day for wandering.    I’m partial to wandering and might do a bit of that myself later on.   Right now I need food.    Enjoy ‘today’ as much as you can .... wherever you are. 15.00     Well I have managed a nigh on even mix of  work and play so far today;  and, most importantly, I’ve managed to find a way to cope with Harbour House being ‘closed’ on Monday’s and Tuesday’s.    I buy a carry out coffee from Ian (the Paper Shop) clamp it in into the clamping thing for cups/ mugs in the car, and go down to the harbour and have it down there. ...

17th March 2019 (Sunday) .... and ...St Patrick’s Day.     I wish all my Irish Late afternoon. friends the world over, loads of happiness and love on this your especial day. We have a dry, ‘cloudy with long sunny spells’ start to our day in the East Neuk... with a brisk and cool Northwest breeze.    Golfer are out golfin’, (Jock is out there too, .... I know this because Jock’s car is parked up the street);   dogs will be walking their owners;   and I am enjoying a cuppa before I fire up the main computer.      I have only been as far as the front gate.... the plan is to stay warm, (I’m not going to the kirk) and play this cold like Scotland played the second half of the game yesterday.     Must ‘go’  ....ever so slight ‘flap on’ .... 16th March 2019 (Saturday) .... 09.00     It’s wet and windy(NE), as per Mmmmm ... not a drying day. weather forecast, .... I see, from browsing the Fife weather cams, that Lochgelly     has snow, as probably will Glenrothes, and the higher ground.     I don’t intend going out to look for snow. There’s a ‘yellow jacketed’ bloke with what looks like a fire hydrant on the end of along pole bumbling about at the junction of Ferry Road and the Ferry High Street;    I suspect that he, (and his mates), will have been the cause of the heavily stained water we had coming out of the taps overnight.     ' Scottish Water' is flushing the Main water supply pipes around the East Neuk just now .... they are, doing at night when we are cosily tucked up in bed.     I guess it must have been our turn last night!      We have to run the cold water tap until the water runs clear....I’ve done that and it didn...

15th March 2019 (Friday) ..... 08.30    This is a sad day for New My walk to the beach most days . Zealand... and for all of us on 'Mother Earth:  t he horrifying news of the cowardly attack on innocent people at prayer, is hard to take in:   I never ever imagined that New Zealand could be affected by the evil of terrorism:   not like this.     New Zealand seemed to me to be above, and far removed from this kind of evil.     My thoughts are with the families who have had loved ones killed, or injured, in this callous attack. 11.30    The weather here is as predicted;   bright, breezy and cooler.  Oh .... I had a small disaster in the kitchen at breakfast;   I dropped my cereal bowl.     Luckily it was empty at the time, so there was only broken crockery to clear up.   I had my Weetabix in a ‘common’ plate.... but that’s not the same:  so I’ve been to ...

14th March 2019 (Thursday) ....07.30       The sky is clearing after a fair Lovely morning. amount of overnight rain;   it’s beginning to look like we could have a bonnie day.     I’m feeling brighter, much brighter than I did yesterday;  almost  feeling positive again.     The ‘plan’ is to lie low and work on my Presentation for the Colinsburgh girls:   until 10.00, when I’ll take a break for coffee.... at Harbour House.     In the meantime .... its go go go.    Mmmmm .... I’d better have a cuppa first. 19.30    It has been a productive day for the ‘boy’;  that means I managed to get some work done on the Colinsburgh presentation.... and took time out to take a run down to the harbour, have coffee.... and go to the Drop in Cafe in the afternoon. I now know ‘iggzactly’ what I am aiming for with the presentation, and have most of the photographs sorted out....

13th March 2019 (Wednesday) .... 08.00      It’s bright and very breezy.... so Balcarres Crag. quite cold in the wind.     I’m going to Leven to do some shopping.... and have the car windows fixed:    they won’t open.     Actually I think I’ll start using Fife Auto (St Andrews);     they   are next door to Morrison’s Cafe.     It’s along walk from Fife Auto Banbeath) to Sainsbury’s in Leven.     Exactly one mile.   17.30     When I was bumbling along to Leven this morning I thought, “I’ll try the car windows to see if they’re still not working”;   and they opened!   I think my cars are like me;  not keen on damp weather.   The mechanic said it was probably the damp weather;  ‘damp weather?’ .... in Bonnie Scotland?   Hmmmmm .... I suppose it could be! Being in Leven early I went to Sainsbury’s and celebr...

12th March 2019 (Tuesday) ....   08.30     The sky is... well ... mostly grey Breakfast time! this morning:   there is a sliver of clearness towards the Southeast, so it might all brighten up later.     There’s a Storm, going by the name of Gareth, coming in from the Atlantic...bringing with ‘him’ the gales we expect around equinox time. I’m feeling friskier this morning... another few cuppas and an afternoon in bed again and I should be almost  with a bit of skittish added.     At this moment in time I’m going to have another cuppa, then ‘loup’ into the car to go and have some blood taken.     Slight ‘flap on’ this morning. 11.30    Yes ....
