Nice morrrrrrrrning ....

27th August 2025 (Wednesday)     09.30 .... Light rain showers are forecast later in the

afternoon;  that means we could have some interesting clouds coming over.   At the moment we have a lovely morrrrrrrrrning, with an even mix of clouds and blue sky.  The breeze (moderate) is from the SE;  actually it could be a good drying day.... I'm going to do a washing:  'Flap on'.

19.00    When I took the top photo I was on my way the Nana's Seat;  but it started to spit rain so  that was as far as I got.   Anyway, I was happy with the rain; not because it stopped me from going to Nana's Seat ....   but because it was watering the flower tubs.   The rain didn't last that long but the tubs feel wet enough so I'm happy.

The washing?.... I brought it in just before I set off for Nana's seat.   In fact ironing the bits and pieces that need ironing is my next job.   Actually I haven't done very much today;  because it has been a 'rest day'.    Although damp, it has been warm (21.8C)  and humid.   The sun is breaking through now and again;  and it's raining, albeit lightly.

21.30    I'm going to make the Horlicks and watch the News before diving intae bed with my book.   I've had, as planned, a 'lazy' day and tomorrow will be another 'lazy' day.   The sky should be interesting tomorrow as heavy thundery showers are forecast;  and that usually means big old clouds.    I might go up to Balcarres in the car (via the garage for petrol);  but only if the sky is interesting.   Orf to make the 'orlicks and get ready for bed.

The roses are looking good .... and the scent;  that's something else.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
