Nice fresh morning ....

29th August 2025 (Friday)     08.45 ....  although there's a fair amount of cloud around, it's a

lovely morning:  "showers (could be thundery in the afternoon) and sunny spells, with a gentle southerly breeze." is forecast for KY9.   A good 'play day' forecast.   

I'm going to charge the bike battery after breakfast, and have a run up to Kinneuchar later;  depending on the frequency of the showers of course.    And how heavy!   I need a cuppa!.... before I run round wi' the hoover.

11.15     It's a lovely , warm and sunny, morning now;  there's still a slight chance of a light shower  coming over just now, but I've got the bike battery being charged  because I'm not expecting showers immediately.   That said I have a couple of  waterproof jackets over the bike just in case.   

16.20   The batteries, on both 'The Buggy' and 'The Bike' are fully charged:  unfortunately the bike battery took longer than I expected to charge (it was flat), so I didn't go out up to Kinneuchar as planned.   Heavy clouds were coming over so I had a short walk up to the phone box:  I intended going up to the seat at the 17th green, but it started to rain so I wandered back to Ivy.... and put the kettle on.

20.00   It's hard to believe but Ferry Road is going to have SP Energy Networks  'upgrading the electricity supply' through to the end of September'   Temporary traffic control measures, including parking restrictions.   According to the map the work is going to be the same 'route' as was done not that long ago ago:  from the Ferry Road sub station down to the High Street, then up the High Street for 200 metres or so, with a branch off down Cross Wynd.   Loads of 'action' on Ferry road next month.  When I think about it, Ferry Road has been a popular place for road works over the past couple of years.   More activity on Ferry Road! .... I might get a few photographs.

We've had a few spells of rain since I had my short walk;  so no watering to do this evening.   According
to Sarah (weather girl) we could have some spells of heavier rain  tomorrow.  It could be a good day to visit Alice;  and perhaps do some shopping.   

22.15    Going to annoy Alice tomorrow;  I've just found out that I have a DPD delivery coming sometime tomorrow.   Hopefully there will be a time mentioned in an email in the morning.    I didn't expect the delivery before Monday!

Quiet morning ....

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...
