Overcast and dry .....

22nd September 2024 (Sunday)    09.00 .... The sky is heavily overcast but it's dry;  that said there is the

Female Demoiselle - Uckfield Sussex.
chance of drizzle now and again.   The sky does have a slightly healthier look to it and I could imaging a few sunny spells later in the afternoon.   Then again I have a lively imagination!                              Anyway I've been for the paper, in the car, and planned to visit Alice but the car won't start now.   It's going for it's MOT on Tuesday so I'll phone Mercury tomorrow and they can sort it.   I'm with the RAC and their mechanic started it the last time this happened (it's not the battery or starting motor), and advised me to take it to the garage, which I did and it has been fine ever since.   Enough of the car problems; they will be fixed this week.    In the meantime I'm going to have a Cappuccino to calm the nerves.

11.00    Ten times round the patio with the hurdy gurdy = 411  steps;  not many but more than none!   I'll do that again after the sun breaks through;  the sky has a promising look about it today!    At the moment I'm having a cuppa before  sorting out some postcards;  in fact I think I'll begin photograph them (both sides) so that I can browse them in the computer.    The will take nearly all winter as I have about 3000 of them!      "Flap On" now ..... got a mission to organise!

Firenze
20.00   The lights came back 'on' at 19.30, 'on' after a power cut that lasted over an hour.   Luck was on my side for a change; I'd just made a cuppa before the lights went out!    If I'm going to be photographing/ digitizing my postcard collection I'm thinkin' it's going to take a lot of dull, wet days to
do it!   I did 21 (both sides) in two hours this afternoon, that's photographing (quicker than scanning)
then downloading into a Folder in the computer, then cropping and cleaning then saving them into another 'Cleaned Postcards' Folder.   I don't really need to do all that because it's only to make it easier to browse the postcards;  but I like them to be neat and tidy to look at.   It will get faster now that I have the set up organised, and know 'iggzactly' what to do.

This has been an eventful day;  first the car not starting (well starting intermittently), then the lights gaun oot, and the computer aff, just when I was beginning to feel fired up.   A frustrating, and stressful,  kind o' day.  Thankfully working wi' the postcards is calming.

Tomorrow is going to be another cloudy day, "light clouds with a light NE wind" .....so it will feel cool.
Back of card.
I'll have to contact the garage and see how I can get the car along there to be fixed, ready  for it's MOT on Tuesday.

Funnily enough in spite the car, I have actually enjoyed myself today.   'Flap on' now.... "Nightsleeper" is coming on TV and I'm watching that!

22.30    "Nightsleeper" is sometimes overly dramatic;  a bit 'Americanized' for me, but watchable nonetheless.  Anyway it's Horlick's time .... and I have a busy day ahead tomorrow.
