Bright and breezy ....

10th September 2024 (Tuesday)    08.15 .... There's a load o' fresh air around this 'bright and


breezy' autumnal  morning, but the rain has cleared away.  The wind should freshen in the morning then moderate in the afternoon;  a good drying day, but a bit breezy for morning coffee outside.   Anyway I need to go to Leven first thing, but apart for that, this is going to be a 'rest day'.

19.00    It has been a beautiful day;  a bit breezy perhaps, but that made it a brilliant drying day.   I did a washing.

My trip to Leven was a success (I got all the bits and pieces I wanted).... and had morrrrrrning coffee with Alice.    Back at Ivy I did the aforementioned washing then had a 'lite bite' lunch.   I intended doing some work on the wee shed, but fell asleep.   I must have been tired because I slept for over an hour.  I wasn't in ta working mood  when I woke up; so I had a cuppa then went for a walk to the beach. The beach was busy which was a surprise, but when I think about it.... although windy it wasn't very cold, 

I was sitting on on of the seats, right out in the open, and didn't feel cold.... but I had a jacket on.   As did most of the folk on the beach. 

22.30   There's a chill in the air tonight;  I'm thinkin' that we've had a short Autumn!   Tomorrow is going to be another bonnie, but cool, day.... and not as windy.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
