Light rain ....

30th September 2024 (Monday)    08.30 .... it's cloudy, with light rain coming in from the North

Sea, so not a pretty start to Monday;  but the sky shows the promise of a multitude of sunny spells to come!  Until the sun breaks through I'll work on the computer!    Right now I'm ready for breakfast.

17.00    I wouldn't say that we've had a multitude of sunny spells; we had one, but it wasn't long enough to call it a 'spell'.   However I have been busy on the computer .... and I'm happy with progress.  After lunch I began to watch something on the tele and fell asleep for an hour and a bit.   Can't even remember what I sat down to watch!   When I eventually surfaced, I had a cup o' coffee then went for a short wander up to the golf course then home by way of Rotten Row and the Ferry Corner.  It  really was a short walk.   I don't like East winds.   Anyway I enjoyed my short walk, mainly because I met Marcia and Marie coming out of Earlsferry House.

22.30    Although a bit too 'Americanized' for my liking, "Nightsleeper" was exciting viewing, but unrealistic at times; I enjoyed all six episodes but I like things to be realistic!  The ending was a complete surprise.   

I'm going to have another 'rest day' tomorrow.   Tomorrow's weather is going to be bonnier; "sunny intervals with a moderate breeze from the NE" , with the chance of showers in the afternoon.  I might go for a longer 'walk' , and take the hurdy gurdy because it has a seat.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
