Misty ....

6th September 2024 (Friday)     08.30 ....At the moment we have a misty morning, but the

Colinsburgh Kirk.

forecast for KY9 is "sunny with a moderate NE breeze (F3 -4)".    The Fife Weather cams are showing heavy mist/fog;  hopefully the sun will break through sooner rather than later!    In spite of the wind chill factor..... the sun is hot at this time of year and we should have a 'sunny and warm' day.   I'm a  'happy boy'.

20.00    My word..... I have had a busy day.    The Tour of Britain Cycle Race is on TV as is the Paralympics;  between biking, playing tennis and swimming I am well tired tonight!    And the Paralympics is still on.   In between all that I did some 'ousework;  sort of tidied up the 'man cave' .... while watching the TV.   I went for the paper in the morning   and I have yet to open it.   I suppose it  could be my bedtime reading.    Ho it won't!   Kirsty dropped a Donna Leon book through the door sometime today;  that will be my bedtime reading.    I'll read today's Courier tomorrow!

With me being so busy I didn't go out with the camera so I'll fire up the 'Alberto Archive' to find a couple of  photos for today.   When I go into the archive I tend 'wander' over the places I've been;  it's very relaxing.   And I have thousands of photographs to keep me from being bored or the next 20 years or so!. And I'll take some new ones tomorrow.

22.30    The penultimate Stage of The Tour of Britain is on tomorrow.... and there will be more Paralympics;  another busy day for Alberto methinks.    The weather forecast is reasonable;  fog in the morning with the sun breaking through later in the afternoon.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and f...

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...
