10th November 2023 (Friday)    08.30.... We have a beautiful, albeit nippy, frosty morning; but Fitting the ridge to the new (zinc) roof. the sun will quickly shift the frost to give us a bonnie, but slightly 'cool on the lugs', play day.  It's too cold for me going biking; and I feel a slightly 'sluggish' (after the jabs) but it's the cold air that's curtailing my activities.   I'll stay 'in and warm' in the morning, and go for a run in the car in the afternoon.  12.30    The best way to describe my morning's activities? ..... resting!    I found an old film (1952) to watch (Channel 82) and settled down with a cuppa;  it was an interesting enough film but I kept falling asleep so missed a lot of it, but managed to catch the last 20 minutes.   Having said that I feel much better (in fact I feel playful) than I did earlier so the rest has done me good.   I'll have a bowl o' soup after this update then see how ac...

9th November 2023 (Thursday)   08.30.... It's a bright and breezy morning;  perfect morning for being out early for a walk... or on the bike.   This is 'jab' day for me (Randolph Wemyss 14.22);  so I will get back on the bike soon.   This morning I'm going to visit Alice, who lives not far from the Randolph Wemyss, before going for the 'jabs'.  'You will be interest to know that 'Port Servicer' is chugging her way across Largo Bay making for Elie.  I'm going to have breakfast. 20.00   The 'Randolph Wemyss' Waiting Room was full of Elie and Earlsferry folk that had been vaccinated and were waiting the regulation time before making for their transport to go home.   Alice and I met Marcia coming out.  When I got back home I found a message on the answer machine from Marcia, telling me that she was going to be at the Randolph Wemyss;  however I was doing a wee bit o' shopping (fruit that I forgot yesterday) be...

8th November 2023 (Wednesday)    08.00.... There's much wetness  just now... in fact it's a This guy is thinking 'love' things! miserable start to the day:  however the rain should begin to clear soon and give us a 'sunny spells' afternoon.   That's not a bad forecast;  I'll  potter around Ivy in the morning then go out in the car in the afternoon. 15.30   The rain cleared away before morrrrning coffee' and we've had a cracker of an afternoon... albeit cool in the frisky breeze.    I went up to Elie to hand in my prescription, and pick up the paper.  That mission was half completed.... 7th November 2023 (Tuesday)     08.45 .... the stonemasons are busy in the back garden, I am vertical and almost awake, 'Blob' has had his breakfast and I am about to have mine.   The 'plan' is to go to Leven, do some shopping, visit Alice..... then draw/ rest in the afternoon.   Must 'go'... slight 'Flap on'; lots to do.    21.00    This has been a hectic day for 'the boy'.    I did the shopping as per plan.... welll... not quite as per plan;  I forgot the list that I'd so carefully written last night.   I checked when I got home and discovered that all the items I really want I'd bought;  so it wasn't a disaster.  I picked up a few extra things .... just in case they were on the list. 6th November 2023 (Monday)     08.00.... It's a 'go out to play'  morrrrrrning .... so I've hung out a washing: Play time will be after breakfast.   In fact, if the weather turns out as forecast ('sunny intervals and a gentle breeze'), I might even go up to Chapel Green (on the bike) in the afternoon.    I'll have breakfast, then go for the paper. 11.30    I've done the 'uplift paper' mission.... and visited the harbour.   All is good \at the Elie end of the villages;  apart from a cormorant perched on the harbour rocks,.... probably with 'bird flu'.  A well bird would have taken off when I appeared.   There was a bonnie 'light' so I took a few photographs to 'play with' this evening. Not only did I remember to pick up the paper;  I also bought some chocolate biscuits for the empty 'Emergency Ration' tin.    17.00    I am saddened by the death of an elderly (94) family friend;...

5th November 2023 (Sunday)    09.00 .... Although the sky is mostly overcast, and we've had some light rain, it's one of those peaceful Elie and Earlsferry morning: The Jackdaws aren't squabbling (that's a change).... a lone Magpie flew its ungainly looking, flapping way towards..... somewhere it needed to be;  and 'Blob' was givin' it laldie from the Rowan tree.   All is good, even if it is slightly grey and damp just now;  we're expectin' sunny spells by midday. 19.00    The sky cleared before 'morrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrning coffee' time and we've had a lovely, pleasantly warm, autumn day.  I went to Methil to torment Alice;  we didn't go anywhere as I (for some unknown reason) was awfie tired.   Alice got me up to date with her 'News' and I gave her all the 'Ferry' News.   By the time we'd done all that it was lunch time;  Alice had made stew for lunch,  and I can tell you it was very tasty.  ...

4th November 2023 (Saturday)   09.30 .... It's overcast and damp with a light easterly breeze Kinneuchar Station junction. bringing stuff in from the North Sea;  a 'stay in and stay warm' day.   The weather could brighten up, as the wind is forecast to begin backing to the West later this afternoon. 17.00   After lunch I decided to go up to Kinneuchar Station (by car) to get a few photos of trees in their Autumn colours.  The plan was to wander along the railway line, then across to Albert's Wood, and have a wee wander through it.   However I'd forgotten about the rain we've had lately, and promptly cancelled the 'Alberto's Wood' plan when I met up with water and mud.   I did the railway line then thought I'd go to Kinneuchar.   Well.... that plan changed when I saw three coaches, followed by a number of cars turning into the Kinneuchar road.   There must have been a wedding or something on.   I ...
