HM Queen's Platinum Jubilee ....

 

2nd June 2022 (Thursday)    05.30 .... it’s a cracker o’ a


mornin’....  and the weather forecast is good for the whole day;  a good drying day so there’s a washing going though the machine.    I’m going ‘roond the villages’ before the traffic gets busy;  after another cuppa.

19.30    I had perfect weather for my early morning run round the villages ....and it was warm.   At that time the light breeze was from the West.     Myra invited ‘The Team’ up for morning coffee and it was really pleasant sitting outside;  in fact it was almost too warm.   We enjoyed coffee, biscuits and a catch up chat.... and met Shona, Myra’s neighbour.  

Back at Ivy I had lunch then pottered around the garden, before falling asleep in The Hutte.    I accidentally showered at 04.30 thinking it was 05.30 so I’ve had a long .... and enjoyable day.

 Earlsferry Guided walk.
Graham was taking the Earlsferry History Society Guided walk in the afternoon so I went down to get a few shots of the start of the walk.  Nine people turned up for what is an interesting ‘walk’ round the historically interesting Royal Burgh....with Graham pointing out and describing  many interesting facts about the buildings, and notable residents that have lived in, and created the history of the old Royal Burgh.


My intention was to go to the harbour and see the lighting of the Beacon at the end of the pier, but the wind is from the east so too cold for the bike.... and the car park at the harbour will be busy. So I’ll miss that event;  actually my early morning start has caught up with me.  

21.00   Myra is ‘working’ at the History Society Exhibition tomorrow afternoon so


I’ll bumble along to have a browse round.   I’ll need to get ‘money’ (as in notes and coins) ‘cos I haven’t been using money for a long time now.   I think it’s donation for the Exhibition.

I think it’s chocolate time;  I’m well ready for my bed tonight:  and I won’t be showering at 04.30 tomorrow morning.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
