128 Merganser .....
9th
August 2017 (Wednesday)
.... 09.00 There is a ‘raft’ of 128
Merganser up at the Inner Voes/ Beacon area;
a ‘raft’ of Merganser is a sure sign
that Autumn has arrived. We have another lovely morning, and you can ‘feel’
autumn in the early morning air; its a
morning for doing things. I noticed a family of three, out walking the dogs on
West Bay, picking up litter on their way along the beach; not only that the man carried a fish box,
full of litter, up to the waste paper bucket on Chapel Green.... they were 'doing their thing'. Well done ‘troops’ .... we need more folk
like you in the villages.

Extremely, very happy ‘us’ .... we have a Coffee Morning in the Kirk Hall at 10.00; that will take up part of my morning. I’ll bike up to Elie, pick up the papers, do the coffee morning, then bike up to Kinneuchar to take a few photos, after which I’ll ‘annoy’ Shona and
mooch a cuppa up there. I have a busy
morning ahead.
Main street, Kilconquhar. |
21.30 All today’s missions completed
successfully; except mooching a cuppa
from Shona, who was out. I left a bag
of 4 scones at her door.
The
‘Coffee morning’ was excellent but disappointingly ‘quiet’. The July and August CM’s are aimed at the
visitors to the village so that they can meet the locals; at least the ‘locals’
were there, and a few visitors .... but, it would have been better with
more.
I
then biked up to Kinneuchar, and had to circumnavigate Kinneuchar and Barnyards
before I met up with Nancy, Elizabeth and the judges. I took a ‘team’ photo then a few action shots
of them going about the judging. Davie
Mason (Decorator) was
working in Kinneuchar;
I haven’t Davie seen for a few
years. Like all painters he was happy
because of the two dry days we’ve just had;
this lets them, painters, get on, and catch up, with their outside jobs. In the meantime the rest of us are having to
use the sun cream, .... and worry about a hosepipe ban.... tomorrow is also forecast
to be ‘rainless’.

It
has been a nice day today, but it was cloudier so we didn’t see so much of the
sun. That said, I didn’t use the sun
cream.... which might explain why my nose is red and feels ‘burnt’.
