Quiet morning .....
13th
July 2017 (Thursday)
.... 09.00 Six o’clock is the time for
me to be out on the road .... nae cars on the move, and I can get down to, and
back from, the
harbour ‘nae bother’.
Any time I go ‘out’ during the busy times, for the next six weeks, will
be on foot. Primrose was out, out with her dog, enjoying the
‘peace and quiet’ of the early morning.
Having been, ‘up and about’ since 05.30, means that I’ll need to have ‘50’
at lunch time.

We
have a bonnie morning; not as
spectacular as yesterday morning was, there’s more cloud about, but it’s quiet,
with only breath of wind from the Southwest.
The sun should burn the cloud cover away and give us a bonnie afternoon.

20.30 Strangely enough I didn’t have ‘50’ at
lunch time; I did some gardening .... in between watching
Stage 12 of ‘the Tour’. Stage 12 had
an exciting finish ..... the finishing
line was at the top of the last climb. I am a very tired ‘boy’; and that was only watching the end of the race
.... imagine what it must have been like, climbing to the ‘Finish’ after racing
214 kilometres! Tomorrow’s stage is the shortest on the ‘Tour’
(101 kilometres) ... apart from the time trials .... but it does involve three Category
One climbs so should be exciting for the duration of the Stage.
Our
‘missing’ aircraft carrier is still ‘moored up’ at Invergordon .... this stop
was pre planned, as part of the ‘sea trials’.
Some junk did get caught on one of the propeller shafts; it cleared on its own, but they’ve taken this
chance to have the shaft checked by divers.
Meanwhile the “Albatross” (with oil rig) is out in the North Atlantic
Ocean making for the Gulf of Mexico.
It only appears on AIS as ‘Cargo Vessel’... of which there are
many. I am following one that I think
may be her, but won’t find out until she
reaches Corpus Christi.

The
weather forecast for tomorrow is ‘good’... ‘bright and sunny’ early with a few
clouds bumbling over later in the morning.
I will get ‘up’, and out, early ... but not as early as this morning; I’m beginning to feel tired now. Sleep should come easily tonight. Having said that the ‘sepoys’ (Indian
soldiers under British Command in ‘Empire’ times – when India was coloured pink
on the map) are rebelling, and about to attack Krishnapur; I must find out how that’s unfolding before I
go to sleep!
