"Independence Day" USA ....
4th
July 2017 (Tuesday)
..... Happy “Independence Day”,
to all my friends in US of A; have fun on
this your Especial Day.
We
have a dreich morning here .... overcast and wet stuff being brought in from
the
North sea on a light easterly breeze;
not a mornin g for ‘this boy’ being out and about. Thankfully I have the ‘Tour’ to watch
later.
Wet morning in Williamsburgh, Elie. |
My
latest ‘girl friend’(?), HMS Queen Elizabeth is a sneaky lady ... she keeps
creeping in and out of the Firth in the dark:
and is now ‘messing about’ in the North Sea. It’s
a good job she is ‘tagged’; I know
where ‘she’ is, .... most of the time.
19.00 It has been dull most of today, though
the wetness stopped round about 14.00.
There has never been much wind, but being easterly there is always the
threat of ‘Scotch Mist’ blowing in.... it hasn’t been a ‘bonnie’ summery day.

Jimmy
came along for a cuppa in the morning;
after that we went down to the Sailing Club for another cuppa .... at “Lorraine’s Place” (The Galley), and
watched the action in the harbour. It
was a fine morning for being taught various water activities etc by Elie Water
Sports; and Elie Bay was busy with wind
surfers, board walkers etc.
When
I got back to Ivy I moved the car to a more accessible ‘mooring’; I might want to go out early some
morning. Getting the car parked,
over the next six weeks can be a ‘worry’.
Since then I’ve down an ironing, during the doing of which I watched “Le
Tour”; I am now feeling weak with all
this effort. There wasn’t much in the
way of hill climbing today ..... it was a day for the
‘sprinters’ coming into their
own at the end of the race .... and crashes;
which happened in the race to cross the ‘line’.

Mark Cavendish got a bad one ... and,
despite being able to finish today’s stage... might have to drop out.
The
weather has been disappointing today .... ‘drab’ could be a fair description;
however tomorrow is forecast to be ‘better’ ... “overcast but dry”.... wioth
the chance of ‘Scotch Mist’ along the East coast.
