Overcast ....

12th January 2017 (Thursday)...  first full moon of the year.
09.30     Hmmmmm .... we have a ‘completely overcast and definitely not sunny Sussex’

this morning.... and it looks like it could be raining on the South Downs;    and that (the rain) is coming our way, in fact the rain may turn to snow showers later if the weather forecast is anything to go by.

I’m feeling brighter this morning, and, might go out for a short walk.... before the rain gets to Uckfield.
22.30     The rain mentioned above arrived at Uckfield at 10.30, becoming heavy rain by afternoon, and turning into snow by evening time.    The forecast is for it to freeze by tomorrow morning, so travelling could be tricky;  including walking on Uckfield’s pavements, very few of which are in fact level!    However the weather forecast for tomorrow is bright, with sunny spells and cold.    At this time the snow is lying, but there isn’t much, however if it does freeze, it makes plan to walk downtown  not be the best ‘plan’ I’ve ever had.

Today I have been recuperating.... with the aid of a “Janice Toddie” .... there’s nae cold germs could survive one of them!    I am already feeling much better, and should be back to ‘normal’ by the weekend.

With me being mostly inactive again today, there’s not much to report;   but I have been browsing some of my earlier photographs... and have loaded three of them, taken in the East Neuk, onto ‘the Hutte’ for today’s photographs.     Tomorrow’s ‘plan’ is on hold until I se the state of the pavements etc.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
