Friendship Lunch .....
14th
September 2016 (Wednesday)......
09.30
The wind is from the Northeast this morning so the air is cooler and
breathable; but the sky is overcast,
and looks drab just
now. I’m feeling lively this morning,
in spite of the grey weather; however, in Elie and Earlsferry the dullness
will clear away at 12.30 ...., we have
the “Friendship Lunch” to brighten the day.
Must go ... “slight flap on” .... I have a kettle to switch
‘on’.

21.30 The “Friendship Lunch” was the brightest
part of the day; the weather being grey,
and cold, all day.... not ‘pretty’ weather at all. At least it has been dry. I biked along to Elie for the “Lunch” ....
it was a hard pedal into the wind, but you don’t get fit biking with the wind
on your back all the time. The ‘Lunch,
as ever, was excellent, both in regards to food, and friendly banter. Jean, one of the founder members of the
Friendship Lunch, is moving to
Dunblane;
she will be well missed by our community. Marjory thanked Jean for all her efforts
on our behalf, and promised that the ‘girls’ will keep up the high standards
expected; Marjory then presented Jean
flowers, and a card signed by all present at the Lunch.
Happy girls at today's Friendship Lunch - Elie |
The local History Society’s new banners were on
display at the Friendship Lunch: they are
impressive, with much, eye catching, information on them, and will attract
attention, wherever they are used. My
‘slide show’ bumbled its way round a few times;
I don’t know if anyone , apart from myself, was ‘impressed’, .... photographs always look better on a big
screen.
In the afternoon, before putting the bike
away for the night, I biked up to Chapel Green. The old place looks ‘bonnie’ even on grey
days, so I took a few photos to record
‘today’ but, with the weather being grey, they would look better finished
in
black and white.... or sepia.
Tomorrow’s weather is forecast to be even gloomier .... luckily we have the ‘Drop in Cafe’ in the
afternoon. I think the wind is going
to be very light,F1 -2, in the early part of the morning, so I might go out
then; there could be ‘reflections’, if
the sea is flat calm.
Elie from the pier - taken yesterday |
We’ve
had some rain in the last hour or so.... not much but enough to wet Ferry
Road. I was late in bed last night, so
I am going to bed early tonight, and, hopefully I’ll get ‘up’ to a flat calm
sea in the morning.... and nae rain.
