Warm and humid ....

morning, but the air is warm (it was 16C at 0.600) so it’s going to be another warm/hot day. I’ve been for the paper and had a trip to Ainster (I was in the car) to do some shopping in The Store’. Letting COVID rip has had a side effect that the ‘powers that be’ didn’t think of: the Store is having problems with deliveries, because the delivery people have so many drivers off that have had to self isolate, having been in contact with someone with COVID. Many of the shelves are empty and deliveries are random and at any time of the day. This will apply to most stores that depend on delivery vehicles. The shop was busy considering it had only opened at 07.00 and I was there at 07.10
20.00 This has been a ‘rest day’, having spent the day watching the last day of the golf on Sky Go (Computer) and the last three quarter of an of the final Stage of le Tour.... which is a slow cycle into Paris followed by eight circuits around a course in the centre of Paris ... which included, and finished on the Avenue des Champs – Elysees. Mark Cavendish finished in third place, so did not break the record held by Eddie Merckx, both having 34 le Tour Stage wins; Eddie Merckx in the 1970’s. Mark Cavendish could break the record next year, but there is a lot of young cyclists around now... the winner of this year’s Tour Tadej Pogacar is only 22 and this is the second time of doing so, having won last year.
Most
of the afternoon I watched the golf; keeping
an eye on the Tour during the adverts. Collin Morikawa (USA) won with -15; the best placed Scottish (and UK) player being Robert
MacIntyre on -3. I am a tired boy
tonight after all the cycling and golf.
Things will be back to normal tomorrow; I can go out in the afternoon now that the
Tour is finished.
21.00 Another
bonnie day is ending; with a balmy and
warm, but cloudy evening. The only wandering aboot I have done today
was at ‘Ainster’ harbour in the morning;
I haven’t even been down to Elie harbour. I hope everything is where it should be....
and that ‘Fudge’ the wee dog that is missing in that area is found safe and
well.
‘Nae plan’s for tomorrow; apart from doing a circuit of the villages.... I might even have
morning coffee up at Chapel Green; the forecast is ‘sunny intervals with a light breeze’.... that suggest less cloud. Yes I think ‘MC’ at Chapel Green would be a good ‘plan’.
