12th July 2021 (Monday)    07.30 .... a cloudy, warm and humid start to the

day for us.... with the chance of mist/light rain coming in from the North Sea;  not the most cheerful kind of weather but pleasant enough in its own way.

This is a ‘rest day’ for ‘le Tour, so I should get out on the bike.... assuming the mist/light rain stays out at sea;  though it disnae look promising at the moment.   Must ‘go’ ... slight flap on now... I need another cuppa before I decide what the ‘plan’ will be for today.

10.30    The sky is beginning to lighten;  I’m thinkin’ we should have sunny spells soon, and maybe even a bonnie afternoon.  I have been preparing vegetables this morning.... and my word the onions are strong.   The plan is to make ‘mince and tautties’, and some Cottage Pies for the freezer.... then go out on the bike in the afternoon.

The BBC News is all about Italy winning the Euro Trophy.... no ... correction.... the BBC News is all about England not winning the Euro Trophy.   Ye Gods ... it’s only a game.... and anyway Scotland lost faster, and with less fuss.                                                               The racist comments on social media, presumably by disgruntled fans, were abhorrent  .... but that is a problem with social media;  it is a platform where racist kind of folk thrive.   Sad .... but a sign of the times.  Then there was vandalism.... disappointing, but almost the norm for big events nowadays.   Scotland – England Final in the World Cup 2022?

14.30    The work (in the kitchen) is finished... with the dishwasher bumbling its way through the dishes and pans.... and the ready meals are cooling off to go in the freezer.   The sun has been out for a while so I’m going to have a cuppa, then go for a birl round the villages looking for scarecrows.    It’s humid and hot,  with haar drifting in now and again.

20.30  I enjoyed a short trip out on the bike....and took a photo of the ‘Scarecrow map’ so


I should know where I’m going tomorrow morning.    It was uncomfortably hot and humid for me....but it’s fine when on the bike.    I got a few photos of scarecrows... then thought I’d go to Carol’s Shop and have an ice cream;  then remembered that I didn’t have money or card with me so ....no ice cream.

Tomorrow is forecast to me another warm/hot day with longer sunny spells and fewer showers.   Did we have any showers today?   If we did I must have slept through it/them.   I’m going to have a look at the map’ and plan my route for tomorrow.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
