Peaceful ....

9th June 2021 (Wednesday)    09.30 .... I’ve yet to go to Elie for the paper, but I


have been up to Chapel Green, and can tell you that it’s a warm and bonnie morning, .... even though the sky is cloudier.    Actually it could hot and humid later.   I’m going to have a cuppa, then go for the paper;  I’m feeling livelier today.... playful even.








16.00    My word it is cosy out;  21C on the  garden thermometer.... far too warm to work.   I eventually went to Elie for a paper but there was a queue so I didn’t bother with the paper, but I did go to the chemist.    The next ‘port of call’ was the harbour;  Angus, of Elie Water Sports, was getting ready for what I imagine would be a busy day; however,  the tide was out so I didn’t stay at the harbour very long.   I did think of going out to the Lady’s Tower but decided to go home by way of Ardross, Balbuthie and Kinneuchar arriving home just as the thought of food began to enter the brain.   After lunch I fell fast asleep;  now I am ready to go out to play.

21.00    I never did go ‘out to play’.... it was too hot;  instead of ‘playing’, I sat in The Hutte and did a Soduko, and nursing a migraine (humid weather).    According to Helen (weather forecaster) it is going to be uncomfortably warm tonight;  I’ve started a new book so that might be handy.

There’s going to be a partial eclipse of the sun tomorrow morning (from 10.00 to midday) so that should cool things down a bit.... it’s forecast to be cloudy so it might not be visible to us anyway.   It the sun is visible do not view the eclipse without very dark glasses to protect your eyes.   I won’t bother trying to actually view it;  the sun is only going to be 1/3rd covered from here;  but even so, it should be noticeable in other ways.... a cooling of the air, and slightly less light about.

I’ve had another ‘rest day’ though I did get out twice on the bike so have had some


exercise.   I’ll go for the paper in the morning, then charge the bike battery, with a view to going somewhere in the afternoon; it’s not supposed to be quite as warm and humid as it was today.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
