Overcast and damp ....

5th April 2023 (Wednesday)     08.30 .... Hmmmmmm.... the sky is overcast


and we have light drizzle: looking on the ‘bright’ side, there’s nae dust to get into our eyes.   This is going to be a ‘rest day’ for me.... well no’ quite;  Janice and I are going shopping (Sainsbury’s in Leven).   Michael is staying at home studying.   I am feeling ‘fairly frisky’, even though there’ a lack of oxygen in the air.   There’s only a light breeze from the Southerly direction.... and it isn’t cold.   Just damp.

12.30    Janice and I have been to Leven shopping;  funnily enough Sainsbury’s wasn’t that busy.   People are being more choosy in where they shop and what they buy when they do go out.   The roads were busy on the way home;  and our wee villages are already busy, so should be really really busy over the Easter weekend.  Anyway the shopping has been done and I can now bein my ‘rest day’.   Janice is going for a walk, Michael is working... and I am contemplating going out on the bike, and I do the lunch dishes.... i.e. load the dishwasher).

19.30    I never went out .... either on the bike or in the car;  I have had a funny old day....I think the efforts of the past few days have finally caught up.   Janice had a walk up to Elie to the shops... and I had originally intended going out on the bike at the same time, but came the time I just didn’t have the energy.


I have an appointment with Laurie (Nurse) at the surgery tomorrow morrrrrrrrning (blood test);  it’s at 08.50 so an early start..  Michael is studying and Janice is his Secretary so they are busy just now; I am i/c dishes and they are going through the washer as I type. Its hard work bein’ me!

We have ‘nae plans’ for tomorrow; according to the weather forecast the weekend is going to be ‘sunny’ but not necessarily warm as the wind could be off the North Sea.   There’s variable forecast for the wind direction.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
