Breezy ....

 

6th October 2022 (Thursday)      09.30 .... it’s bright and fairly breezy this


morning (F7 out in the Firth) but it wasn’t that cold when I was on the beach (07.00);   havin’ said that, I was wrapped up in a winter jacket..... and the wind has freshened since then.

Actually, ‘ll do a ‘test’ after this I am choked up with a bit of a cold this morning;  at least I think it’s a cold.... I don’t have a sore throat or anything.   I’ll do a ‘test’ after this update and stay ‘in’ for the rest of the day.... there’s plenty things I can do.


13.30    The ‘test’ (mentioned above) was clear so it’s just a cold ... as I thought it was.   Since then I have done, hung out and dried a washing;  apart from a pair of jeans that are still on the line...they’ve had a couple more rinses from passing, short sharp, showers.   The sky is looking less threatening so I’ll leave them out.   The latest 'plan is....  to make a cuppa after this and go out to The Hutte where I’ll be able to keep an eye on the weather;  and probably have a catnap.


20.00    The other day I bought ‘turkey mince’....today I cooked it as per ‘rools’;  and it tastes ‘nae bad’.  The one thing I did do was forget that I was only using 500g of mince, and used the usual amount of vegetables that I’d use for 750g .....so there’s a healthy amount o’ vegetables in the  two turkey pies I made for the freezer.

I didn’t go out anywhere after the morning daunder to the beach; the weather turned a bit iffy in the afternoon.   Anyway I was trying to shake off this cold.... and I’m feeling better than I did this morning.   I’m wondering if a ‘Janice Toddie’ would ‘hit it for six’.   I’ll have a ‘JT’, instead of chocolate, at bedtime.

The ‘Master Plan’ for tomorrow was to go and get Alice after lunch, then we’d visit

Sheila (Upper Largo);  but that now depends on how this cold is;  I don’t want to spread it around.   I might have had the ‘cold’ today but for some unknown reason my breathing has been ‘good’.   That I cannot understand.   I’m away to ‘construct’ a Janice Toddie....for which I need a BIG mug!

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
