Balmy morning ....

29th October 2022 (Saturday)    09.30 .... it’s a bonnie balmy, warm and

"Good Morrrrning" from Elie and Earlsferry beach.

(unfortunately) overcast start to the day:  the light breeze is from the Southeast so it could bring mist in from the North Sea.   I don’t want mist... I’d rather have ... yep .... sunny spells and bonnie clouds:  that said it’s a bonnie day for going out.   I went to the beach at sunrise time (there was never going to be a visible ‘sunrise’) and enjoyed a slow (what else) wander along the edge of the tide..... very relaxing.   I was thinking of going up to Balcarres but I want a sunny day for that.   It’s breakfast time... in fact it’s almost morrrrrning coffee time.

17.30   The Ivy Cottage clocks are at the ‘new’ time.... it’s been that kind o’ afternoon;  grey and wet.   Earlier I’d been to Leven (‘cos I’d forgotten half my shopping the other day) so, took a chance and went to annoy Alice for a couple of hours, and mooch a cuppa.  Oh... a Big “Thank You” to the kind ‘person who left the bag of apples at the door:  I’ll be making Eve’s Pudding’s tomorrow.

The Rugby is on just now then ‘Strictly’ so a busy evening ahead.

21.30    I’ve had another, enjoyable ‘lazy’ er ... restful day;  though it ended with a migraine.   Actually....if I could chose the time to have a migraine... just before bedtime would be the time;  though I’d rather not have them at all.   Anyway on to tomorrow! .... after I have a couple o’ pills for the migraine.

What is the ‘plan?   Tomorrow’s weather forecast is better than today’s so I might get out on the bike;  I want to get a few autumn colour photos, before the leaves totally disappear from the trees.   Mind you the forecast isn’t brilliant;  nae mention of ‘sunny spells’ but it does mention the ‘chance of precipitation’.   Oh ....‘light cloud and  a fresh breeze’ is the forecast.

The Rugby was a bit of a disappointment;  no, that’s not quite right .... there was nothing wrong with the rugby, just the result.   ‘Strictly’ was entertaining as usual.... the Halloween costumes were something else and it will be hard to eliminate one of the couples, but that will be done tomorrow evening.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
