Had a walk round Colinsburgh .....
24th
October 2017 (Tuesday)
.... 09.00 We have dreich start to the
morning, .... but .... the rain is forecast to clear away by midday leaving us
with ‘sunny
spells’. I went down to
the harbour (in the car) for a change of scene, but had to abort the mission; the rain became serious... and there was
never going to be a visible sunrise this morning; not here anyway.

The
delivery I’m waiting ‘in’ for isn’t going to happen until tomorrow; which is awkward because I have things on
tomorrow morning. Of course the
delivery might not be until the afternoon;
DPD, the delivery company, send an e-mail giving a time (between 13.00
and 14.00 would be fine), when the delivery should happen.
‘Atlantic
Kestrel’, the tug/supply ship that’s heading for Aberdeen, passed through the
Strait of Gibraltar overnight, and is now bumbling along at 8.6 knots.
19.00 Wellll ... the weather hasn’t been the
bonniest today, but... having said that it has been dry, and brighter in the
afternoon. I went up to Colinsburgh
for a walk along the Main Street; I
moored up outside the Masonic Hall then walked to the east end
and back. I couldn’t resist walking up ‘The Pend’ to
have a look at the ‘back road’ up to Balcarres; sometimes called the ‘kirk road’. This was the ‘road’ most used by the folk
who lived, and worked, on the Estate.
Most of the houses are now let out;
very few of them have resident workers living in them. I enjoyed my daunder through the auld
village; a village with many happy
memories for me.

It’s
Jimmy’s birthday tomorrow.... he will be ‘er... 91! I treated him to a cuppa and scone in ...
not... not Sainsbury’s; I treated him
to a change of venue, and took him to Kellie Castle Tea Room. The Car Park was busy, so, presumably, the
castle and gardens were busy too.... the shop and cafe was quiet when we were
in; but there was a meeting going on ‘next
door’.
Our
weather is forecast to be ‘dry and bright’ mostly, tomorrow.... but breezy. We
could use some sunshine, before we drop
into the depths of winter.
