Playful ....

20th August 2019 (Tuesday)    07.00 ....   It’s a nice quiet morning. Dougie with tractor and trailer used to take the grain to the farm. although heavily overcast:  in fact heavily enough overcast to be spitting rain and stopping me from going ‘roond the villages’ on the bike.   The sun should break through by mid morning .... and ‘the plan’ will be back on track.  Until then I’ll have breakfast, do a wee bit of ‘ousework, then take the car up to Elie for the paper and morrrrrrning coffee. 16.30      I’ve been mair active today (playwise i.e.).... although not on the bike.     I took the car up to Kinneuchar to see if Dougie had combined the field just west of the kirk.   Most of it had been done and just as I was beginning to I wonder if he’d finish it after the light rain we had this morning I heard a Harvest time .... with Kinneuchar kirk in the background. tractor coming ...

'Bright eyed and bushy tailed' ....

19th August 2019 (Monday)   07.30 .... ‘sunny intervals with a fresh north- Janice's flowers on Maggie's 'shrine'. westerly breeze’ is the forecast for ‘KY9’ today;   but we have started the day with a couple of showers.    They kinda surprised me because I was getting ready to go out on the bike when the first one hit us;   however they are predicted to fade away by mid morning.    I’ll get the bike out after breakfast. I’m feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed today;   I think yesterday’s under the weather feeling was just tiredness brought on by doing too much the day before.     Oh well that’s easily sorted... ‘more play every day’ is something I could manage ‘nae bother’.      What is the old saying? .... “all work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy”.    Yep .... more play is called for. 12.00     At last I have managed to get out on the bike;     having been up to ...

18th August 2019 (Sunday)       07.00 .... Maggie died on this date 10 years Maggie - in 2008 ago; to me it seems like it was just a couple of   years ago.     She still ‘lives on’ in me;   and is always ‘there’ when I need her.... just as in life.     Thanks to my family and friends I am enjoying living .... something I never thought I’d do again on that fateful morning:   a big “Thank You”, and loads of love to all my family, and friends who helped me through those horrible early days.... and years. xxxx This morning my ‘plan’ was to go to Chapel Green and have ‘morning coffee’ but it’s beginning to rain so that plan has been amended to ‘afternoon tea’... if the weather is amenable.    We have an overcast and breezy morning, and it is spitting rain.... but  forecast to have ‘sunny spells’ in the afternoon.    The rain doesn't appear to be much more than a few spits and spots.... and ...

17th August 2019 (Saturday)      07.00 .... There’s a brisk westerly wind Michael and Janice are back home! (F4-5) and the sheets are on the line taking advantage of it.   After the   downy cover is through the machine and   out on the line, the major part of today’s ‘work’ is done.    Not only is it a good ‘drying day... it’s also a good one for going out to play.    I’ve been cleaning the Canon lenses etc. so I must have a practice with it later, .... most times when I’m out on the bike I take the smaller Olympus ‘bridge’ camera.     This is when I need my model! ‘Starlight Venture (our oil tanker) has passed through the Pentland Firth and   is off the north tip of Lewis (The Butt of Lewis);   she should pass St Kilda sometime this morning. 12.00     That was a bit of luck;    I was resting in the Hutte when I noticed a dark cloud booming in so I took the downy cover i...

16th August 2019 (Friday)      07.30 ....   “Light rain with a fresh wind” is The Ivy Cottage Hydrangea - I like the colour of it. the weather forecast for most of today: however the rain should begin to move away by early afternoon, leaving us with a nice evening.    Right now “Light rain with a fresh wind” is what we have .... in one word ‘dreich’.     Michael and Janice are driving down to Sussex later today;   the plan is to set off in the early afternoon, by which time the weather should have improved here but there's rain warnings out for, near enough, the whole of England today.   It is not a morning for dog walking;  but try telling the dogs that!   I have no doubt there will be a few dogs walking their owners in the rain:   I'll leave my 'going out' until later in the afternoon, though I'll probably take the car up to Elie for the paper and morning coffee. Janice and Michael - ...

15th August 2019 (Thursday)      07.00 ....we have a sunny, and mildly Links Road - Earlsferry. autumnal   feeling morning:   the best kind..... the kind that wants, in fact needs, me out in it.      I don’t know what the ‘plan’ is for today but I’m going to circle the villages after this update.    There’s a brisk wind from the West with a few clouds scuttling over but mostly of the cuddly kind ...... but there could be a few rogue ones, so here is the chance of an early morning shower.   It is going to be warmer than it was yesterday. 09.00     It is cool out, but there’s lot of clouds about yet and they keep blocking out the sun, hence the cool air.     I’ve been round the Ferry and up to the Pony Field on the bike and all is good.    It should get warmer later on.      Michael is golfing at Anstruther this morning;     I think Janice will b...

Overcast but dry and still ....

14th August 2019 (Wednesday)     06.30 ....   “Overcast with a light breeze Overcast .... but not raining. and light showers later” is the forecast for KY9 today;   and, at the moment it is overcast....   with hardly a breath of wind.    I had hoped to see the sunrise this morning but the overcast sky stretched to the horizon so sunrise was hidden from view.   I’ll have a cuppa then get the bike out. 08.00     The bike I left in the Hutte, and I went to the beach instead... by way of hirpling'.      The beach was quiet.... only Marcia with the dogs, then the villages woke up and the dogs were out walking their owners all over the place.    It’s a nice morning for being out, but not ‘bright and sunny’;   in fact the sky looks quite threatening towards the West, but the showers aren’t supposed to occur until about midday.... and they are to be mixed in with ‘sunny spells’.    Could be ...
