Light cloud ....

7th September 2026 (Monday)     10.00 .... It's a nice morning just now, with short sunny spells;  but cool in the fresh SW wind.   Light rain is forecast to reach KY9 in the afternoon.     Me? .... I'm not going to be not be hampered by such trivial things as 'light rain' and frisky winds!    I'll have morning coffee out in The Hutte, regardless of the weather!    Anyway the light rain might miss us.... and it's sunny just now!     'Flap on';  got the kettle to activate!

Light rain ....

6th September 2026 (Sunday)     09.45 ....The 'light rain' stopped, and we have a more promising looking sky.   There's a light SSW breeze;  and, ..... the South facing Fife Weather cams, show a clearing sky moving our way.   We should have 'sunny spells' in the afternoon!    I'm going to have a daunder down to the Toon Hall after morning coffee;  and after midday, because that's when the Hall is open as part of the 'Doors Open Weekend'. 17.00     I had a most enjoyable time at the Ferry Toon Hall Doors Open Day.   The first thing I have to say is that the Hall is looking the best it has ever been since it was built (1872).     The hall floor is absolutely amazing;  it looks like a new floor.   The whole building is in safe hands;   Maggie would be happy. I went down about 12.45, and met Elaine and ... oops... I've forgotten the other lassie's name.  That's' bad....

Bright and breezy .....

5th September 2026 (Saturday)     08.00 .....   We have a 'bright and breezy' start to Saturday;  oh, there's some light cloud, but not the rain beating kind.    It's a grand morning for doing a bit of the Coastal Path;  or, if you are in a washing mood, it's a brilliant 'drying day'.   Me? ..... I might have a short walk up to the seat at the 17th green sometime today, but this is going to be a 'rest day' after all the exercise I had yesterday.    Hospitals involve a lot of 'hard ground' walking. 11.30    There's a bit cloud about now, and quite chilly when exposed to the fresh Westerly wind.  I haven't been anywhere,  but have a wee washing to hang out so I have done something useful.    I'll think o something else to do after morning coffee. 20.30    Yesterday eventually caught up with me!   I kept falling asleep.... er... cat-napping.     So I never went for ...

4th September 2026 (Friday)     06.45 .... After the light rain last night we have a bright and breezy morning.    However it will be bright, and even breezier in the afternoon, with freshening winds forecast.  A nice drying day!     I'm ready for the trip to Kirkcaldy;  my appointment is at 10.40, not 09.40, that I previously thought.    So flap 'off' and the kettle 'on'. 20.30    As I expected this has been a busy day, but the Inner Ear MRI scan has been done.   A noisy experience, but with earplugs and headphones the noise was bearable.    I can't imagine what it must be like without the plugs and earphones.     I arrived at Alice's with time to have a cuppa before  taking the car down to Leven Bus Station, where we louped on to a No 73 bus that goes to Kirkcaldy Bus Station via The Victoria Hospital.   A lot of different bus routes do this.   It saves th...

3rd September 2026 (Thursday)    09.40 ..... It's lovely morning;  sunny, with a frisky, WSW breeze;  which will dry the washing I have on the line.     Rain is forecast to arrive late in the afternoon, and be with us overnight.   The washing will be in and ironed long before that.     I'm going to have another cuppa then have a short walk up to the phone box.   Perhaps even further if the new inhaler is doing it's job. 17.15    I enjoyed my short walk;  in fact I thought about going out later in the afternoon, but it turned cloudy and cooler, and the rain isn't far away.   Anyway, Alice and I will  have a couple of walks tomorrow: from the  Bus Stop at the Victoria Hospital, to the Hospital Entrance door, and the reverse, after the MRI Inner Ear scan.   This has to be done as I have Tinnitus in the right ear.   The fact that I've had it  (Tinnitus) for 60 ...

2nd September 2026 (Wednesday)    09.45 .... We have a 'dreich' kind of morning;  an overcast sky with light rain drifting in, on an Easterly breeze, off the North Sea.   Not a morning for doing the Coastal Walk!    I was thinking positive earlier, and  actually have small washing going through the machine;  it won't be going out on the line today.    That said we could have some brighter weather (perhaps even a sunny spell) now and again, most likely in the afternoon. 20.00    Apart from a brighter, and drier, spell in the middle of the day the weather has been disappointing, being mostly overcast with light rain.   I didn't go out today; not even to the Friendship Lunch, and I was looking forward to that.  I must say that the new inhaler does improve my breathing, there's no doubt about that.   It will take a couple of weeks before I really know how good it is;  which fits in perfectly wit...

Cloudy .....

1st September 2026 (Tuesday)     09.30 .... We have light cloud at the moment, but light rain, with the chance of sunny spells is the forecast for KY9 today.   There's a moderate breeze from the WSW but it isn't cold.   I'm ready to go to Methil, but I don't need to go shopping.   I'm going to defrost the freezer before I do a 'big' shopping.   As a matter of interest;  this is the first day of Meteorological Autumn. 20.00     The roads were busy when I went to Leven and Methil this morning;  but nor as busy as they were in the afternoon on my way home.    There was more or lass a continual line of holiday traffic travelling West wards;  my side of the road was quiet.    At Alice HQ we had a cuppa and goodie before going across to visit Alice's friend Barbara.   Barbara  fell a few weeks ago and broke her arm.  She is well on the mend though still unsure about go...

31st August 2026 (Monday)    09.45 .... We have a sunny, and warm, Bank Holiday Monday, after a sultry kind of night.    I had to switch on the fan it was so hot.   The North East of England had a lot of thunderstorms, which have now drifted out over the North Sea.   "Sunny intervals with a moderate Westerly breeze"  is the weather forecast for KY9 today.  Me? .....  I'm going to enjoy a quiet, and relaxing, holiday Monday!    No 'ousework or anything remotely, even slightly, strenuous! 19.00    I now have my Community Alarm, which is operational, but still has to be finally 'set up';  and the annual fee paid.     A letter should arrive in the next few days with the details, of what I have to do next. We've had a lovely sunny day, though I found the morning stifling and uncomfortable.   But the wind freshened in the afternoon and we had a really nice fresh day:  a bit too hot t...

Damp morning ....

30th August 2026 (Sunday)     10.00 .... After some light rain overnight,  we have an overcast sky, with promising light patches in it.    The Fife Weather cams all show an overcast sky;  the Kinghorn one has a few brighter patches on show.... but none have 'sunny spells' at this time.   Me? ....  I'm feeling almost frolicsome this morning;   unfortunately I've lost the ability to actually 'frolic'.  But I'm happy a happy boy nonetheless.  The weather forecast for KY 9?.... 'Thundery showers with a gentle easterly breeze'.... and, there is a Yellow Warning  re the thundery showers.   And... the good bit!.... 'we could have sunny spells between any showers'! 19.00     The flo'oer tubs are being watered by a thundery shower at this moment;  so I am a happy boy.   I think this is the first shower we've had all day.   Oh ... and we did have a sunny spell in the after...

29th August 2026 (Saturday)     10.30 ..... We have a beautiful start to the Bank holiday weekend, here in KY9.    An even  mix of light cloud and sunny spells.    I've been up to Elie to pick up my prescription form Susan's;  and have hung out the small amount of washing that was in the machine. The traffic fumes up at Elie were a bit of a bummer, (there's only a light breeze so fumes tend to hang around).  I got the new Aero Chamber and inhaler and will have a shot of it after I have a cuppa.   Slight 'flap on';  the kettle will have boiled!  14.45    The holiday makers will be enjoying this warm and sunny day.  It's too hot to sit out in The Hutte for any length of time;  being 23C on the patio thermometer, it's a bit too warm for me being outside at all.   Anyway I've been resting.   The Nurse that gave me the RSV jab, warned me that I'd probably be 'hot in bed', and have a ...

28th August 2026 (Friday)     09.15 .... It's a lovely, wet morning!    Why lovely? ..... because the flower tubs are being watered as I type!    The weather forecast for KY9 is ..."thundery showers and a gentle Westerly breeze".   The thundery bit should be later in the afternoon;  fading away to give us sunny spells in the evening.     I'm feeling 'bright eyed and bushy tailed' this morning;  probably because of the change in wind direction.  I have two Nurse appointments at midday;  after that I'm going to catch up with the 'ousework. 16.30    I could hardly believe the diameter of the needle that the Nurse used to take blood this morning;  it looked like a sewing needle.   How do they make them?    Must Google that;  AI will have the answer.    Anyway the blood had been taken,:  and I met my 'new' Asthma Nurse.   She is excellent;  ...

27th August 2026 (Thursday)     09.15 .... It's a grey morning at present, but it's dry;   but lightrain could come our way in the afternoon.   No mention of 'sunny spells' in the forecast!   I had a good night's sleep, though I woke up a couple of times for a drink of water;  but didn't wake up at 04.00.   I woke up at 07.15. extricated myself from my comfy bed, got 'up' and showered.    I've had breakfast, all I need now is another cuppa!   20.00    That's the RSV jab at the Randolph Wemyess done;  all I need now, to be ready for the winter, are the flu and COVID boosters.   Anyway I went to 'Alice HQ' where we had a cuppa, before going across to visit Alice's friend Barbara.   Barbara broke her arm a few weeks ago and is well on the mend.  We chatted about a variety of subjects, then Alice and I went back to Alice's to have sandwich lunch, before going to the Rando...

26th August 2026 (Wednesday)     08.30 .... There's a fair bit of cloud around just now, but the weather forecast is good;  "sunny intervals with a moderate Easterly breeze", and it's to be warm.   So a nice day ahead.     As long as it doesn't become too hot. I'm organised for my RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) vaccine...  13.35 at the Randolph Wemyess.   I've just checked the date and it's tomorrow! (27th) .... not today.    'Flap off' ... and the kettle 'on'. 13.15   I've been a lazy boy today;  in fact I fell sound asleep in The Hutte;  but I woke up feeling refreshed so must have been needing it.  Breaking my sleep to take my medicine at 04.00 has been tiring;  not just because I'd to do that, but I kept waking up a couple of times before 04.00 ,so was losing a lot of overnight sleep.      Anyway that's all done with now;  I had my last dose at 10.00 this morn...

Damp ....

25th August 2026 (Tuesday)     09.45 .... After some light rain overnight we have an overcast sky that is beginning to show signs of breaking up, to give us 'sunny spells'.    There's only a light SE breeze, so a nice enough morning (and afternoon) ahead once the sun does break through;  apart from the wind direction!     I'm going to do the washing hat I should have done yesterday.  Weather permitting, it should be dry by evening time.   Apart fro the washing, and a wee bit of 'ousework, this is going to be a quiet ,'rest day' for me. 17.30    My 'rest day' hasn't been a completely lazy day;  the washing has been done... and ironed.   But I'd say that I have enjoyed a quiet day;  and I thought the air has been cool today.  It is coming in from the North  Sea, so I suppose it should feel cool, especially if the sun is behind clouds;  as it has been most of the time.    Any...

24th August 2026 (Monday)     19.30 .... I've been a busy boy today;  I even forgot to update The Hutte in the morning;  and I apologise for that.   Everything was going as per 'plan', and for some obscure reason I forgot my normal morning routine.   I only found out 20 minutes ago that 'The Hutte' hadn't been done;  so I now have a' mild Flap On' to get up to date. First of all it has been a bonnie sunny day here;  the only problem being the SE breeze.   That wind direction, and the heat, does not agree with me at all.   Anyway we've had a nice day;  and I am tired at the end of it! As planned I went to Methil to visit Alice, and catch up with her news.   After a 'catch up' cuppa, we went to Sainsbury's to do a wee bit of shopping.   Alice was looking for a clothes line, but they didn't seem to have them in Sainsbury's;  we couldn't find them if they did have them.   Her ...

23rd August 2026 (Sunday)    10.15 .... The 'plan' was to go to Methil and annoy Alice this morning, but I've had a migraine;  so that had to be cancelled.  Funnily enough, apart from the migraine, I feel much better than I have done for a couple of weeks.   I think this means the effects of the pills (Prednisolone)  might have worn off:  they certainly had numerous 'effects'.    The main test will be doing a hard Soduko!  Anyway, I'm feeling almost 'bright eyed and bushy tailed', but this will now be a 'rest day'. We have a lovely morning here in KY9;  mostly blue sky with a light NW breeze.   A brilliant morning to be walking the Coastal Path. 15.00     The temperature is at 23C on the patio thermometer; so it's too hot to sit out in The Hutte.   It's even warm in Ivy.   I'd set up a hard Soduko to test the brain, but gave up in the heat.   I'll have a go (at the Soduko)...

Wall to wall blue sky ....

Image
22nd August 2026  (Saturday)     I'll start by wishing Janice a "Happy Birthday":   have a lovely weekend at the New Forest. xxx  10.45 .... we have a 'wall to wall' blue sky just now; so I can't tell from which direction the breeze is coming, because there are no clouds.   However, the Flag on the third green suggests a light breeze from the NW just now.   My breathing is reasonable this morning;  but that last cold I had, has left it's mark there's no doubt about that.  However, I'm looking forward to next Friday, when I have an appointment with the Asthma Nurse.   I can't go jogging like this!.... but I'm feeling 'playful'. 16.00    It's too hot to sit in The Hutte, so I came in to play with the few photographs I got this morning when up at Elie.   From that you will have deduced that we have a lovely sunny day here.  There's more cloud about now;  but the sun  doesn't hide...
