Overcast and warm (ish) ....

13th February 2022 (Sunday)      07.00 ....’Blob’ is bright as a button this

Ferry Road.

morning .... he twittering happily, from this perch  on top of the Rowan tree.    I’m feeling bright this morning too, but won’t climb the Rowan tree to let everyone know it.    It’s a quiet morning, (well....  it would be if Blob wasn’t so happy), with only a light breeze.... and, though overcast, it is dry;  and .... not cold.   Heavy rain is supposed to come our way about midday.   I’ll loup into the car in a wee while and go for the paper.  Ye Gods .... I feel frisky this morning. 

10.00    A menacing looking grey sky, like the one we have today, is perfect doing a shopping;   so I went to ‘The Store’ after I picked up the paper.   I didn’t really need much, but fancied a wander round the aisles:  and ended up having an enjoyable half hour of retail therapy.   I came home by the Kellie Castle road, to miss the traffic lights in Pittenweem.... and decided to fuel up the car at Colinsburgh.   So I have had a fairly busy morning.  A stroll to the beach, after morning coffee, might be the next move .... if it isn’t raining.

11.00    It was.... raining i.e.    So I didn’t go to the beach.    It is a classic ‘dreich’ day now;  I am glad that I did the shopping earlier:  And I won’t be going out until sunny spells arrive.    The messages have been put away in the appropriate places;  and I switched the kettle ‘on’;  so it’s ‘morning tea’ time now.



















17.00    I can say that this has been one of the most restful days I have ever had; it is one of the few days that I never went out with the camera.  No that’s not true;  I went out to Ferry Road to take a ‘weather photograph’.   Most of my day was spent assisting Barnaby and Jones in Midsomer Murders.    Would you believe it.... it has been one of those days when I’d have been happy to fall asleep in front of the tele.... but didn’t.   I have done a bit of work the computer, but even there I couldn’t get fired up.    The ‘gless’ (barometer) has been ‘falling’ all day so that might account for my lack of ‘get up and go’:  it has steadied at 985 so should begin to rise soon;  and I am starting to feel mair excitable again.

22.00    Welll .... it has been a dreich day.... and it looks like it’s going to rain right through until tomorrow morning.    Tomorrow is supposed to be ‘showery with a moderate breeze’....  so.. we should have sunny spells between the showers.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
