Bright and breezy .... (weather too)

1st February 2022 (Tuesday)     10.00 .... If it wasn’t for the wind we would


have a bonnie Spring like day.... as it is we have the wind, and the wind chill that it brings with it unfortunately.   That said it is a bonnie, if breezy, day.

I have been to the beach and will go for the paper later.... probably in the car because I need bread.   I think I’ll  have ‘morrrrrning coffee’ now;  then see what the wind is doing... at the moment it is F7 on Largo Bay.


13.30    The wind is still at F7 – 8 so it’s doubtful if I’ll get out on the bike today:  however the wind will start to to moderate soon, and we should have a quiet night.   It is to be less windy tomorrow.   I’m going to check the bike tyre pressures after lunch.... and I might just be brave enough to potter round ‘The Ferry on a trial run.
I have been up to Elie (in the car) and got the paper and bread:  and went to the harbour for a short visit.   It is blowy down there;  which is why I didn’t hang about, and came home;  via Balbuthie Loan and Kinneuchar.


18.30    The wind has quietened down, but I never got out on the bike.  Tomorrow is going to be cloudy with moderate winds.... and the ‘a chance of precipitation’ later in the morrrrrrrning.... so I plan to go for the paper fairly early.  The bike is ready to go .... and so am I.






20.30    I’ve had a quiet day;  and it looks like I’ll be having another quiet one tomorrow;  there’s  chance of precipitation all day.   That suggests the cloud is going to be with us all day.   Of course we could get lucky and have ‘sunny spells’.   Yep;  I think I fancy sunny spells tomorrow.    I had a tentative plan to go to St Monans in the morning, and do the ‘Narrow Wynd’ walk again;  this time with a fully charged battery in the camera;  so bring on the sunny spells.

Elizabeth came round today delivering an update on the kirk services; and the other


activities organised by East Neuk Trinity Church.   The kirk services are going to be  in the local kirks form Sunday 6th February.     The services will be available online, but whether that will be ‘live’ or on YouTube I’m not sure.    Actually ‘Online’ suits me best:  I can have coffee/tea,....  and don’t have to worry about  my singing.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
