Bright, breezy and cool ....

21st February 2022 (Monday)      08.30 .... It’s a ‘bright and breezy,


morning, and the weather forecast is good for the whole day... albeit, breezy and cool... and I’ve been for, and remembered to pick up, the paper;  visited the harbour and Kinneuchar.   There’s a brisk breeze blowin’ and it’s cool when exposed to it.

I had a ‘funny’ night last night;  something went up Ferry Road at 02.45 and I didn’t get back to sleep until nearly 04.00.... after doing a crossword and a Soduko.   I’d been up at 02.00 for a ‘comfort break’, and had just fallen asleep.   Oh well.... there’s a good chance of me falling asleep in front of the tele today.

17.00    Nothing will wake me up tonight;   I’ve been out on the bike twice;  on what is a really beautiful day;  it has been 11C in the garden..    The first time I did the ‘tour of the villages’, and would have done Elie Estate but the battery was low.   I went back to Ivy and put the battery on charge..... felling really good after biking.    There was a bit of wind, but I have a pair of over glasses that protect the eyes from the wind, so the wind is no longer a problem:  Unless it’s above F4.  


The second time I went out I only went to Chapel Green;  by the time the battery had charged it was 15.30 and the air was beginning to cool.   It was enjoyable nonetheless.   If the weather is good tomorrow I will do Elie Estate;  it is going to be slightly windier tomorrow, with the chance of light showers, so I should get through the estate after lunch, when the air is at it’s warmest.


22.30    I don’t think I’ll have a problem sleeping tonight;  I am absolutely shattered.    Tomorrow is going to be another day when I should get out on the bike... after that we are in for more wind.    Tomorrow is going to be windy, but only about F4-5.   The ‘plan’ is to see how muddy the Elie Estate road looks and if not too bad I’ll do the Estate run.  


I’ve had my chocolate.... and I don’t think I’ll be reading my book in bed tonight.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
