... 07.30 It looks like a nice
morning,

Boarding the Arran ferry at Ardrossan. |
with very little wind; a good
morning for travelling. We are booked
on the midday ferry so there should be some of the afternoon left when we get
to Arran. I’m hoping to update the
Hutte this evening. Enjoy your day.
21.30 We arrived on Arran about 13.30 after an
uneventful journey. We did have an
accidental detour through a place called Neilson; it did not look the kind of place that anyone
would stop in, but life was detected.
The weather was misty and damp so Neilson did not look bonnie. Actually, the West coast does ‘dreich’ with real
feeling; our east coast ‘dreich’ is ...
well just common dreich. It was
slightly brighter when we got to Ardrossan, and the crossing, to Brodick, (the
ferry port on Arran), was on a calm sea.

.... on our way to Brodick. |
Our first stop on Arran was at Lamlash, where Hazel
lives. After Iain set up Hazel’s computer;
to connect Hazel to the planet again, we
set off to try to get some food. It turned out to be an awkward time so we ended
up buying snacks... snacks that kept us going until we had dinner in the restaurant
in the complex where Iain and I are staying.
Tonight
I am full of food and looking forward to a good night’s sleep. The ‘plan’ is to drive round the island tomorrow,
get a few photographs on the way round, catch the Ferry back to Ardrossan

Approaching Brodick (Arran). |
and
be back in Ivy for bedtime. I might not
be able to update the Hutte in the morning;
it depends on when we have breakfast, and how soon we set off for our
tour round the island.
