Drizzle....

8th January 2024 (Monday)    08.00.... The weather forecast has us down for 'drizzle and light


winds' but it was raining when I was feeding 'Blob';  that said, the drizzle (sometimes rain) should move away to give us a bonnie, albeit not very warm day.... but, right now, the sky is not very bonnie.   I also noticed the bloke has arrived to 'Close' Ferry Road so I'd better move the car.... after breakfast.

16.00    Ferry Road isn't 'Closed';  the East lane is open so we have single file traffic without temporary traffic lights.  Ferry Toad is quiet and the  system seems to be working well:  I haven't heard any horns being honked, or shoutin'  n bawlin' .... quiet is good.   The road works have nothing to do with the water at the sub station; Scottish Power are laying a new cable down Ferry Road, and along the Hight Street to 'Cross Wynd'.  Interesting stuff.

I have been reasonably busy today; doing a we bit 'ousework including an ironing that I've been meaning to do for nigh on a week.   I also did a washing; now hanging in front of a radiator.... this is not the time of year for good drying days.  


22.30    It has been a funny old day but I have enjoyed it; the weather didn't encourage outdoor activities, but I had an active kind of day in spite of that.   Tuesday is going to be an interesting day... but I'll tell you all about it tomorrow night.  That reminds me.... I need to charge my phone.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
