Windy and not warm ....

26th December 2022 (Monday)     09.45 ....it’s windy so we have  wind chill


to cope with and it isn’t warm.    I think this is a day of rest for me;  I’m going to browse the TV paper to find a decent film to watch;  it won’t be an American film where the hero has a plateful of bullets for breakfast, and carries a machine gun with an never ending supply of said bullets;  I want something peaceful.... and realistic.   Must ‘go’;  got to have breakfast .




19.45    As is usual for me every year, Boxing Day has been a ‘lazy’ day;  and with this one being a cold one, I only went out for a short run in the car after morning coffee.    I had looked for something to watch on the tele but nothing ‘jumped out’ at me, so I ended up sorting out a load of papers.... and resting. 

My run in the car was only up to Kinneuchar then home by way of Balbuthie and the harbour;  stopping a a couple of places to get a few photos to ‘play with.  That’s when I noticed now cold it was.... and I was wrapped up.    Mike was at the harbour but we didn’t talk for long ...because of the wind.


‘Sleet showers and a fresh breeze’ is the forecast for tomorrow;  that means it’s going to be another ‘wrap up well’ day.   I’d like to go out on the bike but can’t because, with this cold weather I end up with a sore throat.   That said I have new 'super warm' scarf and gloves so could wrap up well enough to take a chance and go round ‘the Ferry.   I’ll see how frisky I feel in the morning.   I got up early this morning intending to go to the beach.... but the cold wind ended that plan.   There's a good chance that will happen tomorrow.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
