Dull morrrrning ....

18th December 2022 (Sunday)     09.45 .... ‘Strong winds and rain’ is the

Grey Seal (juvenile).

weather forecast for us this afternoon;  at the moment it’s overcast  with frisky breeze....a dull start to the day.   I’ve been for the paper and down to the harbour;  all is good and quiet all over the place this morrrrning.   There is/was a grey seal pup on the rocks at the harbour.... not a new born pup;  this one has been abandoned by ‘Maw’, and is about to start (unknown to it so far)  fending for itself.    Hunger will be the motivator.   I’ll loup intae the car and deliver the remainder o’ the Christmas cards before the rain comes;  after morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee.

22.30     I louped intae the car to deliver the cards.... got to Elie and discovered I’d left the cards at home.    However I did a wee shopping in the ‘Deli’;   I got parked outside nae bother.... usually I can’t get near it.    Anyway I did the shopping and have yet to deliver the last of the cards.  

There’s a parcel being delivered by Royal Mail tomorrow so I’ll have to be around for that:  Michael is going to phone and let me know when to expect it;  hopefully in the morning.   I’ll deliver the cards as soon as I know what’s ‘appening.

This has a been a funny day:  luckily the bad weather never materialized and the air is warmer so we shouldn’t have any frost tomorrow morrrning.   Having said that I couldn’t get ‘into gear’ today;  oh I did things on the computer, and watched the football.   It was a brilliant Final and I was happy that Messi (Argentina) finally got a World Cup medal.... he is magical with a football.   As was Mbappe the French ‘star’ player  Argentina beat France 4 m- 2 on penalties the score being 3 – 3 after extra time.   


The forecast for tomorrow is ‘strong winds and rain’...  and much warmer!  I’m hoping the rain and wind will be somewhere... as it was today.   Although I haven’t  got everything done that I’d planned, I’m fairly satisfied at the end of the day.   I forgot to get chocolate when in the ‘Deli’ so I’ll tea and digestive biscuits again.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
