Warm and overcast .....

6th May 2022 (Friday)     07.30 .... The early morning bike plan fell by the

Yep.... it's been that kind o' day.

wayside;  there was light drizzle  earlier, and it’s still threatening so I’ll go out later.    I’m feeling positive so the washing is going through the machine.... it might be mid morrrrrrrning before it ends up on the line: sunny intervals and a moderate breeze being the forecast for KY9 from mid morning – ish.

17.30    As I suspected it would be;  today has been a ‘rest day’.  The muscles had to have a rest after yesterday’s decent run out on the bike.,,, but I might go out in the evening, if it isn’t too windy.   Ferry Road has been busy the afternoon... most of the day in fact..  

My washing dried.... after getting an extra rinse when on the line.  I’ll do the ironing after this update.... ’ousework isn’t strenuous the way I do it.

21.00   I’ve had a really quiet day.... a bit like the Eider on the rocks off Chapel Green!    I’ve done the ironing and a wee bit o’ ooverin’ and dustin’ .... but mostly I have been dreamin’.   Funnily enough I have enjoyed today.... even though I never went further than the front gate;  but there’s not much else to write about;  nothing interesting anyway....unless you are interested in Gothic Architecture.


The wind is veering right round to the East tomorrow.... so it will feel colder again.... but, thankfully, rain isn’t mentioned in our weather forecast;  which is ‘light cloud and a gentle breeze’.   It’s the direction of the ‘gentle breeze’ that’s the problem.

The ‘plan’ is to be a bundle of action tomorrow....before the streets get busy;  and if it’s not too cold for my delicate complexion.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
