Quiet morning .....

1st May 2022 (Sunday)     08.30 .... I haven’t been anywhere this morning


because, although dry, it was dull and damp looking.... but I have been busy backing up photographs.   I suppose I should have washed my face in the May dew first thing .... but it was drab and dull looking at that time.  The sun is starting to break through now so we should have a bonnie day to ‘play’ with.    I’ll go out on the bike after breakfast:  can’t go far ‘cos the battery is half full.... full enough to circumnavigate the villages.

11.00    I spent a relaxing half hour up at Chapel Green (note to me;  take enough kitchen roll to dry a whole seat) where I ended up chatting to Ann...a near neighbour.   It was warm in the sun... but cool when the sun went behind the clouds.

The bike battery is being charged up... the ‘plan’ is to go out in the afternoon; in warm sunshine (I hope).   The Town Hall is doing morrrrrrrning coffee today so I’m going to bumble down there in a wee while.   I meant to go yesterday but ended up ‘playing’ with photographs.


16.30   I enjoyed my ‘morrrrrrrrning coffee tea’ in the Toon Hall;  and it was a popular place to be.   I actually bought a ‘hot dog’ to take home for lunch;  that was a tasty change for me.  I think the last time I had a ‘hot dog’ was when ‘JB’ and I visited the Christmas Fayre in Edinburgh a few years ago.

It has been a nice day.... and a busy one:  in fact the roads were too busy for me  and I didn’t go out on the bike in the afternoon.   Oh well ....I have a fully charged battery for tomorrow morrrrrning.

21.00   This has been a quiet but enjoyable day.   Backing up my photographs was an important job and .... there’s room on the computer for another batch now!   The villages have been busy with folk following the ‘Scarecrow Trail’ round the villages.   Tomorrow


is still a holiday so the villages will be busy again.   I ‘plan’ to go out early to miss the traffic.  The weather should be much the same as todays.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
