Light rain ....

16th March 2022 (Wednesday)    08.00 ....the sky is grey and it started to rain

when I was out at the bucket; but it should be brighter in the afternoon .... so it’s not going to be gloomy all day.   I’m going to work on the computer, taking time out to go for the paper(s).... and take Dod to the surgery.   At the moment it looks like the bike won’t be out today.  

21.30   'Light rain'?.... we had one long heavy spell o' rain that lasted until 14.30 .... then drizzle.   However the sun broke through at 17.30 so we’ll have a bonnie day tomorrow..... going by the sunset.   I’ve had a lazy day... no... not lazy.... inactive is a better word: I fired up one of my older ‘back up’ hard drives and browsed photographs that I hadn’t seen for nearly 15 years.... a lot of photographs = interesting browsing.... and multiple cuppas.

About 16.00 I thought the rain had stopped and I’d have a walk to the beach   but there was light drizzle falling, so I settled for a night of TV and computer.   The only time I’ve been anywhere today was when I took George to the surgery.   The rain was heavy at that time, and I nearly fell asleep listening to the soothing sound of rain the roof of the car. 

The next few days look like being good ‘drying days’;  I’ll set washing the machine up tonight and press the ‘go’ button in the morrrrrrrrrrrning.   Actually Friday might be the better day; it’s to be sunny all day on Friday. 

I am going to take advantage of the weather being good for a few days (assuming it turns


out to be accurate) and get some much needed exercise.   There’s Colinsburgh Lite Bite lunch tomorrow;  I could test myself and know if I was ‘clear’ but there’s no guarantee that everyone will be ‘clear’ so I’m going to keep my head down for another week.   As far as I can see even if you do catch the bug, you won’t necessarily have ‘herd immunity’; some folks are catching it again.   My problem is asthma.

No real plan for tomorrow, though I’ll get up early to go for the paper....if the weather is as forecast.... then charge up the battery to be ready for a longer run on Friday.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
